Base Class: Bard
The College of Thunder focuses on the power of the voice, using magic to amplify its students' speech until their songs can shake the earth and drown out the thunder above.
Bombastic
Upon joining the College of Thunder at 3 level, you learn the Thaumaturgy cantrip. You also gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill.
Mystic Inspiration
Also at 3 level, allies may use your bardic inspiration to add the roll to one spell attack roll or the DC for one creature affected by a cast spell.
Voice of Thunder
By 6 level you have mastered the elemental damage of Thunder. Whenever you cast a spell that deals Thunder damage, you may direct the spell in such a way that creatures of your choosing are protected from its effects. Whenever you cast a spell that causes the Deafened condition but deals no damage, that spell deals Thunder damage equal to 1d4 per level of the spell, and half as much on a successful save.
Shattering Word
At level 14, you may use your thunderous voice to disrupt enemy spellcasters. Whenever a creature within 60 feet of you that you can see attempts to cast a spell, you may use your reaction to make an ability check using your spellcasting ability with DC equal to 10 + the spell's level. On a success, that spell fails and the caster takes 1d8 Thunder damage. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier, and regain all uses after completing a long rest.

Posted Jul 16, 2021Inspiration struck me like lightning the other day, and the result is the Bardic College of Thunder!
Terrible puns aside, I'm decently happy with how this homebrew turned out. I feel like it's rather simple, but still interesting and appropriately powerful. Having said that, let me know if you have any comments or suggestions on the subclass' flavor, mechanics, or power level.
