Monk
Base Class: Monk

Way of Sin monks learn to embrace what makes them human in order to tap into dark, sinful energy

Fall to Sin

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use ki to shatter your limits, tapping in to a dark sinful energy. As a bonus action, you can spend a ki point to enter a sinful state. During this time, your unarmed strikes deal an extra 1d4+1 necrotic damage. When you enter your sinful state, roll 1d8 and apply the appropriate affect from the sin table. Your sinful state ends after a minute or when you are knocked unconscious.

1

Pride- You take and deal double damage

2

Gluttony- You take 4 less damage, but creatures within 15ft have advantage on attacks against you

3

Lust- Become charmed by the closest creature within eyesight (if multiple are at the same distance, the DM decides). When that creature attacks another creature, you must use your reaction to make an unarmed strike on the attacked creature. If the creature is not within your attack range, make a ranged attack roll, using the damage from your Sinful State

4

Sloth- Your speed is cut in half, but your unarmed strikes gain 15ft of range

5

Greed- If there are any weapons or items not being carried by a creature, you must use your bonus action to pick it up if it is within range

6

Wrath- All your unarmed strikes take a -5 penalty to hit but +10 to damage. You have disadvantage on attack rolls against creatures aside from the one that attacked you most recently

7

Envy- When you make an attack roll, the number rolled is equal to the most recent attack roll made by another creature.

8

Acedia- You fail all INT saves and checks, can't use magical items. Your unarmed strikes gain +1 to hit

Satisfaction

At 6th level, you gain the ability to heal yourself. When you enter your sinful state, you can recover 1d8 + your WIS modifier hit points. This feature can only be used once per short or long rest

Picked Poison

Beginning at 11th level, you can learn to pick and choose which sin you fall to. When you roll for your sinful state, you can spend 1 Ki point to add or subtract 1 from the roll.

Sin Refinement

At 17th level, you learn to harness sin for greater purposes than ever before, gaining the following benefits:

  • You can enter your Sinful State at the start of combat without spending a Ki point.
  • The extra damage of your Sinful State increases to 3d4.
  • You gain +2 AC while in your Sinful State.
  • You can cancel your Sinful State as a bonus action.
