Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

All Aarakocra are avians, but not all Aarakocra are born of the Storms; the true Raptors of the sky. By taking this path these Birds of Prey are delving into the deepest traditions of their ancestral predatory path. They become as their forebears: striking fear into the heart of mewling ground crawlers, descending out of the blinding sun, dropping on unsuspecting enemies in a flurry beak and claw... They will become Death From the Sky.

Child of the Sky

You have embraced your ancestral traditions from the Elemental Plane of Air.  You are the master of all you survey and your awareness becomes preternatural. You When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Perception and you learn draconic. If you already have proficiency in Perception, you gain expertise.

SkyWalker

Starting at 3rd level, your mastery of the sky becomes apparent. You have advantage on saving throws made to avoid being brought down. If you are brought down and descend no more than 15 feet, you can land on your feet if you’re not incapacitated.

The Eagle's Challenge

Starting at 3rd level, you can menace your foes, drawing their fear and ire to you. When you hit a creature with a ranged weapon attack, you can mark the creature until the end of your next turn. This effect ends early if you are incapacitated or you die, or if someone else marks the creature.

If they fail a DC 12 Wisdom Check, a creature marked by you has disadvantage on any attack roll that doesn’t target you.

In addition, if a creature marked by you deals damage to anyone other than you, you can make a special ranged weapon attack against the marked creature as a bonus action on your next turn. You have advantage on the attack roll, and if it hits, the attack’s weapon deals extra damage to the target equal to half your fighter level.

Regardless of the number of creatures you mark, you can make this special attack a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.

Take Them Under the Wing

Comrades of a true Aarakocra are like their nestmates; they protect them at all costs. If you successfully attack a creature that is within 5 ft. of an ally, you can roll 1d8 as a reaction and add the number rolled to that ally's AC against the next attack that creature makes against them.  If the attack still hits, the target has resistance against the attack’s damage.

Death From Above

At 10th level, you become a flying windmill of death. If you use your Dash action, you may make one attack each on a number of creatures equal to your dex modifier AND within the path of your movement. (If you do not have Mobile as a Feat, you will receive attacks of opportunity from each creature you attack when you leave their threatened zone.)

Gosshawk Strike

Starting at 15th level, you can bear down on your prey like the vicious Gosshawk. If you fly at least 10 feet in a straight line right before attacking a creature and you hit it with the attack, that target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns.

Vigilant Falcon

Starting at 18th level, you respond to danger with extraordinary vigilance. In combat, you get a special reaction that you can take once on every creature who is attacking your comrade's turn, except your turn. You can use this special reaction only to make a ranged opportunity attack on a creature that is attacking your comrades, and you can’t use it on the same turn that you take your normal reaction.
