Base Class: Artificer
The preppers are a sect of paranoid Artificers who believe that magic will soon disappear from the world, leaving it in chaos. This sect has all but abandoned the use of magic in favor of strange technology. Preppers, as the name implies, believe in being ready for anything and along side their impressive handiwork they are well versed in survival situations. A good Prepper is well versed in combat as well, as they expect the world to fall to chaos at any moment. Paranoid, but effective, a Prepper might not be so willing to venture into the unknown without total confidence they are ready. And any party with a friendly Prepper along can sleep easy at night knowing that NOTHING will escape their diligent ally.

You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Prepper Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Arcane Armory
3rd-level Prepper feature
Your metallurgical pursuits have led to you making your weapon a conduit for your magic.
You gain the following benefits while wielding this weapon:
- You can use the arcane weapon as a spellcasting focus for your artificer spells.
- The weapon attaches to you and can’t be removed against your will.
- This weapon counts as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.
Weapon Model
3rd-level Prepper feature
You can customize your Arcane Firearm. When you do so, choose one of the following Gun models: Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun. The model you choose gives you special benefits while you wear it.
Each model includes a special Shot. When you attack with that weapon, you can add your Intelligence modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, to the attack and damage rolls.
You can change the weapon's model as a bonus action.
Arcane Firearm Shots
Shots
Piercing Shot - Requires Rifle Barrel - adds 1d12 damage to primary target and causes attack to hit an additional target behind the primary in a line, dealing 1d12 damage.
Ricochet Shot - Requires Pistol Barrel - Causes shot to ricochet, dealing 1d6 damage to up to 2 additional targets with 10 ft.
Back Blast - Requires Shotgun Barrel - 15 ft cone, Deals 1d4 damage and causes targets to make a Strength Save or be knocked prone.
Extra Attack
5th-level Prepper feature
You can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Weapon Modifications
9th-level Prepper feature
You learn how to use your artificer infusions to specially modify your Arcane Weapon. That weapon now counts as separate items for the purposes of your Infuse Items feature: stock, capacitor, receiver, and grip. Each of those items can bear one of your infusions, and the infusions transfer over if you change your weapon's barrel with the Weapon Model feature. In addition, the maximum number of items you can infuse at once increases by 2, but those extra items must be part of your Arcane Weapon.
Preparation Mastery
15th-level Prepper feature
You have mastered the art of preparation and have reflexively prepare components for quick emergency assembly and deployment.
- Starting at 15th level, when you roll initiative and have no Shots remaining, you regain one Shot.
- Using your action, you activate the emergency reserves on your weapon's capacitor and channel that energy back into yourself. For 1 minute, any spells that normally take 1 action to cast now take a bonus action, as the extra power makes casting your spells easier.
