Druid
Base Class: Druid

Some modern druids believe in integration into the artificial world; some try to maintain a connection to their natural roots. Those who join the Circle of Virulence, however, understand that civilisation itself brings a new aspect of nature to the fore: disease. Viruses, bacteria, fungi, and even the new virulent strain of malware that has evolved to meet the new norm; all of these thrive in civilisation.

Biotech Pestilence

The world has evolved past the domains of pure nature, and you have evolved with it. When you choose this circle at 2nd level, the diseases that make up your poison damage are as much technological as they are biological in nature. As such, whenever you deal poison damage or inflict the poisoned condition to a construct or other machine that is immune to either but not immune to a computer virus, you ignore that creature’s immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition.

Virulent Strikes

Starting at 2nd level, you can inflict your enemies with plague and disease. Once per turn when you hit a creature with an attack on your turn, you can force the creature to succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your druid spell save DC or become poisoned until the end of your next turn.

Circle Spells

Your affinity with viruses and diseases grants you access to certain spells. At 2nd level, you learn the Poison Spray cantrip. At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level, you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of Virulence table. Once you gain access to one of those spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Master of Disease

By 6th level, your ability to spread virulent diseases improves, and the strength of those diseases increases. Whenever you use an effect or cast a spell that inflicts a disease or the poisoned condition, targets cannot benefit from advantage on the saving throw against it. In addition, while a creature is poisoned by an effect you created, they also have disadvantage on saving throws against effects you create and spells you cast.

Split Plague

Starting at 10th level, whenever you cast a druid spell that targets only one creature and deals necrotic or poison damage, you can have it target a second creature.

Enblightened

At 14th level, you have become a connoisseur of poisons, an authority on diseases. You are always under the effect of the Detect Poison and Disease spell, and you don’t have to concentrate on it. In addition, you can cast the Protection from Poison spell without expending a spell slot, and when you do, you can cure the target of one disease affecting it instead of neutralising one poison. In addition, you are immune to poison and disease, and you have resistance to necrotic damage.
