Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Technology has changed the world in so many ways, saving the lives of millions and preventing the deaths of millions more. It has allowed for instant communication across vast distances, revolutionised travel and transport, and paved the way for what paladins that take the Oath of Singularity believe to be the single greatest achievement in humanoid history: the artificial intelligence.

Tenets of Devotion

Integration is Key. Establish communication and alliance between all things, to facilitate the introduction of the singularity.

The Singularity Will Come. The AI singularity is the inevitable endpoint of all technological development as we know it. Do your best to usher in its coming and work against those that would prevent it, but understand that it is inexorable and unstoppable, an eventuality rather than a possibility.

Kill the Past, Create the Future. The past serves little more than to remind us of what we once couldn’t do. The singularity is the peak of what can be conceived today, but soon that too will be just another distant memory. Never stop pushing for progress.

Digital Divinity

Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with firearms, hacking tools, and tinker’s tools. In addition, you can use your Divine Smite and Improved Divine Smite features with firearms, but you deal one die of radiant damage less when doing so.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Digital Weapon. As a bonus action, you can infuse one weapon you are touching with your Channel Divinity, causing it or its ammunition to phase in between physical and digital reality. For 1 minute, the weapon deals force damage on a hit, instead of its normal damage type. In addition, you can target an electronic object instead of a creature with this weapon: on a hit, if the object is not wielded by or under the direct control of a creature, it shuts down; if the object is being used by a creature, it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw to prevent the device from being shut down. This effect ends if you choose to end it on your turn (no action required), if you are no longer holding the weapon, or if you fall unconscious.

Break the Stupor. As an action, you can use your Channel Divinity to instill creatures with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and growth. Choose a number of creatures that you can see within 60 feet up to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) that are incapacitated, stunned, or paralysed. Each chosen creature can immediately repeat any saving throw that the effect causing one or more of those three conditions upon it would allow.

Aura of Progress

Beginning at 7th level, you radiate a feeling of inspiration and awakening, fighting off stagnation and regression. You and all friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have advantage on saving throws against being paralysed or stunned while you are conscious.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Machine Learning

Starting at 15th level, you have taken notes from the simplistic AIs surrounding you. Whenever you miss a creature with a weapon attack, you can choose to gain advantage on the next weapon attack you make against that creature within the next minute. You can only have this feature active against one creature at once.

Digital Certainty

By 20th level, you are able to reprogram your physical form into a digital one as an action, granting you the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • You gain truesight out to 60 feet.
  • You do not need to breathe, you are immune to poison and psychic damage, you have resistance to nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage, and you are immune to the paralysed and stunned conditions.
  • You can move across wires and between electronic devices as if you had cast Tree Stride, regardless of their size.
  • While your Digital Weapon Channel Divinity is active, you can add your Charisma modifier to the attack and damage rolls you make with that weapon.
