Base Class: Monk
Way of the Brutal Beast:
Monks of the Way of the Brutal Beast have learned a way to harness their ki to enhance their strength. The monks who originally invented this technique were cast out of their temple, due to it being a very dangerous technique. As such, desciples of the Brutal Beast are usually outcasts, and others who have a reason to be mad at society. The Way of the Brutal Beast teaches how to be Ruthless, Violent and how to inflict great amounts of pain an destruction upon their enemies.
Beastly Presence
Your brutal training makes you give off an intimidating presence. At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill. And you also learn the Thaumaturgy Cantrip. Wisdom is your spell casting modifier for this.
Blood Boil
Starting when you choose this tradition at level 3, you can enter a state of enhanced strength. You can cause your ki to flow throughout your entire body increasing your strength and causing your blood to boil and glow. This state lasts for 1 minute or until you lose concentration (as if concentrating on a spell). You can use this feature an amount of time equal to your Constitution modifier. You regain all uses on a long rest.
While in this state:
- Your strength modifier equals (Dexterity modifier + Wisdom modifier) ÷ 1,5. Rounded up
- When you use your attack action and use your strength modifier instead of dexterity for the attack roll. On a hit, instead of adding your strength modifier to the damage you can instead roll a number of d4’s equal to that of your current strength modifier.
- When attacking with your strength modifier with an unarmed strike, on a hit you also take damage equal to that of the roll on your martial art die. This includes the extra die you roll on a critical hit.
Brutal Blow
Starting at 6th level, While your blood is boiling, you can expend ki points to harness techniques of brutality. You learn one Brutal Blow technique from the list below. You learn an additional technique at 11th level and another one at 17th level.
Claw of the Jaguar
Your strike is so powerfull that it breaks through your targets defenses, breaking it in the process. When you hit someone with an attack when in Blood Boil. You can expend 1 ki point to force it to make a Dexterity saving throw. If it fails, the target's AC is reduced by 1 for the rest of this encounter. If the target is wearing armor, it is permanently reduced.
Fist of the Giant
You hit the target with such force that it is launched with high velocity. When you hit someone with an attack when in Blood Boil. You can expend 1 ki point to force it to make a Strength saving throw. If it fails, the target is pushed 20 feet away from you and is knocked prone. If the target hit's another creature when pushed, that creature must succeed on a dexterity saving throw or take damage equal to your martial art die + strength modifier, or half as much on a succesfull one.
Sting of the Scorpion
You strike like a scorpion injecting venom into it's prey. Causing the target to have difficulty with regular functions. When you hit someone with an attack when in Blood Boil. You can expend 1 ki point to force it to make a constitution saving throw. If it fails, the target has disadvantage on attacks and saving throws until the end of your next turn. If the target is concentrating on a spell or similar effect, you apply the disadvantage before it makes the constitution saving throw to keep concentration.
Mind over Body
At 11th level you have started to learn to ignore the pain from causing your blood to boil and can quickly cause your ki to start healing some of your internal damage. As an action you can expend a number of hit dice equal to your constitution modifier. When you do so, you regain a number of hit points equal to that of which you rolled + your constitution modifier. You can also spend 1 ki point to use Mind over Body as a Bonus Action instead.
Master of Brutality
At 17th level You have become an expert of inflicting pain and damage. When you hit someone with an attack made with your strength modifier in Blood Boil, for every 4 that you roll on a d4 you get to roll an additional d4. This also applies to any additional d4’s that are rolled.
