The Arcanist is a generalist, studying all magic rather than just one facet of it. Not content with just jotting spells in a spell book and mumbling words these wizards actively seek new and exciting magics. The research into the weave that they conduct is hands on and practical.

Magic Savant

Beginning when you select this school at 2nd level, the gold and time you must spend to copy a spell into your spell book is reduced by one quarter.

Well studied

Starting at level 2 when you select this school, your intensive study into the arcane grants you expertise in a wizard skill. Additionally if you cast the detect magic or identify spell as a ritual the casting time is reduced to 1 minute and you are able to ignore the material cost. If you do not have either of these spells in your spell book you may copy one into it for free.

Spell Vigor

At 10th level your studies of the weave have increased the adaptability of your spells. When you cast a spell of 5th level or lower you may also cast a cantrip as the same action, bonus action, or reaction.

Ritual Master

At 10th level your mastery of rituals allows you to complete ritual spells in half the time and can accomplish them with less potent materials. The required gold cost of any spell component consumed by the ritual is halved along with the time it takes to complete the spell as a ritual. In addition you can now add any spell with the ritual property from the Bard, Cleric, and Druid class to your spell book but you may only cast them as a ritual.

Secrets of the Weave

By 14th level your studies of the weave have allowed you to manipulate it more easily. At 14th level you are able to use your arcane recovery on 7th level spell slots. In addition for every magic item you are attuned to you are granted an additional arcane recovery slot.
