Druid
Base Class: Druid

Gaian Druids focus on the earth itself, instead of flora and fauna. They believe the rock is alive, and that gemstones are pieces of the earth's soul. But splitting away from the rest of druidkind came at a price. Deemed heretics and traitors, the old druids cursed the Gaians, and took away their abilities to use plant and healing magic. Furthermore, the old druids deemed Gaians as sworn enemies, making their existence an ultimate taboo. The Gaians are pretty down to earth, though, so they remain neutral to the old druids despite their injustices.

Basic Geology

Starting at level 2, the Druid inherently has masterful knowledge of all types of natural stones, gems, minerals, and metals.

Magical Geologist

Starting at level 5, the Druid's knowledge of gems and minerals is now extended to magically created stone-like substances. Furthermore, the Druid can determine any magical properties of the gems/stones they touch. This does NOT apply to carvings or etchings, but only to enchantments on the stone itself.

Gemstone Concentration

Starting at level 4, at any time after a concentration spell is cast, the druid may sacrifice a gemstone to sustain the spell for a set number of turns in battle, or minutes of non-battle time

Advanced Geology

Starting at level 7, you become passively aware of the general location, and type, of gems and rock formations nearby.

Along the way, you find a small piece of metal in the ground that you decided to make into a necklace or bracelet. The metal seems to warp magic in a strange way around you.

Spelunker

You are generally aware of nearby cave systems. You may choose to sacrifice a gem worth 1000 GP (or more) to either map out a cave, or to locate the nearest cave. Mapping a cave does not reveal its contents (ie, enemies, treasures, or obstacles) but will reveal natural features (such as an underground river, the height of the cave, etc).

Forgiveness

The mainstream druids begin to respect you and your achievements. Starting at level 10, you are no longer barred from plant/life magic. Furthermore, you realize that most weapons have metal in them, and you gain inherent knowledge of battle.

Cosmic Wonder

You begin to feel a strange attraction to the sky at night. The moon looks like a pale earth, right?
