Base Class: Ranger
In the dark, moonlit forests of Nocturnem reside the Blight Stalkers. These rangers harness the power of the shadows to hunt and stalk their prey.
Smoke Cloud
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to magically shroud yourself or your enemies in a cloud of inky black smoke. As an action on your turn, you create a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on a point that you can see within a 120-foot range. The smoke spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. The cloud lasts for 1 hour, or until it is dispersed by wind. You have a number of uses of this feature equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1). You regain all expended uses after you finish a long rest. Additionally, you can apply one of these two effects to your Smoke Cloud when you use your action to release it:
Toxic Smoke. You infuse your Smoke Cloud with a noxious poison for the duration. A creature who ends their turn while in your Smoke Cloud must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 1d10 poison damage and is now stunned until the start of its next turn.
Vanishing Smoke. You can use your Smoke Cloud to disappear for a short time. When you cast your Smoke Cloud on yourself, you and any allies within a 20-foot-radius around you become invisible for one hour. This invisibility lasts for the duration, or until you or your ally attacks another creature.
One with the Shadows
At 7th level, You become adept at evading creatures that rely on darkvision. While in darkness, you are invisible to any creature that relies on darkvision to see you in that darkness. Additionally, while in darkness, you can move up to your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
Shadow Strike
At 11th level, when you use your action to make a ranged weapon attack, you can choose to teleport directly to the target a number of feet equal to the range of your ranged weapon and make a melee weapon attack against the target. The attack can be made with advantage if you are obscured from the target's vision. You have a number of uses of this feature equal to half your wisdom modifier rounded down (minimum of 1 use).
Deadly Snare
At 15th level, gain the ability to trap your enemies in a magical snare. As an action on your turn, you can make a ranged weapon attack at any point you can see within range. A small mass of dark energy appears on the point. Any creature that passes by the mass and is within 20 feet of it must make a dexterity saving throw or become tethered. A tethered creature becomes stunned and any attack made against them deals an additional amount of necrotic damage equal to half your ranger level. This effect lasts for 1 hour. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again. You can use this feature twice per long rest when you reach level 18.
