Base Class: Blood Hunter
There are few who truly embrace the blood aspect as heavily as the Order of the Exsanguine. They are masters of blood, revelling in the act of bloodshed and bloodletting. Capable of draining from the pools of blood their bloodletting effect creates, or damaging those that would seek to drain life from them - these unique bloodhunters trade away the prowess of studying more specialized foes in exchange for unrivaled ability in hemocraft.
Lecherous Laceration
At level 3, you learn the art of Brandor's Lecherous Laceration.
You gain a stack of Lechery on dealing rite damage, being hit, or the creation of a bloodpool. You can gain a maximum of 3 stacks per turn, but only one from each possible source. You can have up to 30 stacks. Lechery has the following effects.
- For every stack of Lechery, your hemocraft gains potency.
- At 5 stacks of Lechery, you gain a +1 to your hemocraft damage.
- You can consume 5 stacks of Lechery to heal you and everyone around you for two maximized hemocraft die as an action.
- At 10 stacks of Lechery, your hemocraft damage becomes maximized.
- You can consume 10 stacks of Lechery to use a Blood Curse without the use of Blood Maledict.
- At 15 stacks of Lechery, you can activate two rites simultaneously. The second rite's damage is not maximized.
- You can consume 15 stacks of Lechery to heal you and everyone around you as an action in a 120ft radius for four maximized hemocraft die.
- At 20 stacks of Lechery, the lashback you receive from Lechery is halved.
- You can consume 20 stacks of Lechery in order to cast Laceration as an action and a bonus action. Laceration deals eight maximized hemocraft die of rite damage in a 120ft radius.
- At 30 stacks of Lechery, your hemocraft damage on your secondary rite is maximized. You can crit on rolls of 19.
- You can consume 30 stacks of Lechery in order to be able to gain an uncapped amount of Lechery per turn. This lasts for 24 hours.
- When you have the effects of Lechery active, you deal equivalent rite damage dealt to yourself.
- You can choose not to gain stacks of Lechery. You will no longer receive the passive effects of Lechery if you do so, but can still use the active consumptions.
- Every time you begin your turn with a stack of Lechery, you must roll a wisdom saving throw. Beyond 10 stacks, you do so with disadvantage. Depending on your roll, you receive one of the following effects.
| D20 | SELF FLAGGELATION |
|---|---|
| 1 | You take four maxed hemocraft die of damage. |
| 2-4 | You take three hemocraft die of damage. |
| 4-8 | You take two hemocraft die of damage. |
| 9-11 | You take one hemocraft die of damage. |
| 12-20 | None. |
Rite of Bloodletting
At level 3 when you pick this subclass, you learn the Rite of Bloodletting. Your rite damage is slashing damage.
When the Rite of Bloodletting is active, each attack applies or refreshes the bloodletting effect. Only one bloodletting effect can be active. Bloodletting has the following effects.
- Lasts for a hemocraft die + 1 turns.
- When a creature begins its turn with the bloodletting effect active, it must make a constitution save of 12+proficiency.
- If the creature succeeds at the save, then you take a hemocraft die of halved damage.
- If the creature fails at the save, then you heal for a hemocraft die. Additionally, you create a "bloodpool" underneath the creature, which can be used to heal any creature within sight including yourself for a hemocraft die for a bonus action.
Veteran Venesection
At level 7, upon Rite activation you may deal double the damage you received from its activation to the first foe you attack with your newly Rite activated weapon.
Brand of Thorns
At level 11, the Brand of Castigation becomes enhanced with the Brand of Thorns.
- The Brand of Thorns applies the Bloodletting effect, refreshed each turn, to the target it is applied to. This works concurrently with the bloodletting applied from Rite of Bloodletting, allowing two foes to have the status simultaneously.
- The Brand of Thorns halves all healing the target receives.
Bloodletting Bloodlust
At level 15, your bloodlust becomes unfathomable. You may consume a bloodpool for one hemocraft die worth of lechery stacks. You gain advantage on your lechery saving throw while standing in a bloodpool.
Resanguination
At level 18, every turn where the Bloodletting effect is active, you regenerate one hemocraft die of damage.
