Base Class: Sorcerer
Great sorcerers in bygone eras were granted access to the magic of elemental earth; while the modern world has very little connection to the earth itself, there is still one conjunction to the Plane of Earth - the abundance of steel. Your affinity to metals grants you in innate understanding of battle, allowing you to bond to them as extensions of your magical power.
Steelworking Magic
You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Steel Spells table. Each spell counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know. In addition, whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an Abjuration or Transmutation spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.

Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this origin at 1st level, you gain proficiency with all armour, shields, simple weapons, and martial weapons. You also gain proficiency with Smith’s Tools. In addition, if armour you are wearing has a Strength requirement, you can use your Charisma score instead of your Strength score for it.
Steelpact
Starting at 1st level, you learn a bonding ritual that allows you to bind metallic weapons to your form. You must have proficiency with the weapon, and it cannot have the heavy, reach, or two-handed properties. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short or long rest. The weapon must be within your reach throughout the ritual, at the conclusion of which you touch the item and forge the bond. The weapon then harmlessly melds with and fuses into your body, most often your arm. While you are bonded to a weapon in this way, you gain a +1 bonus to your AC as its steel form hardens your skin.
You can use a bonus action to summon the Steelpact weapon from your form, or to meld it back into your form. The bond breaks, and the weapon separates from your form, if you die. While the bond lasts, you can use your Steelpact weapon as a spellcasting focus, and you cannot be disarmed of it unless you are incapacitated.
When you reach 3rd level, your Steelpact weapon gains a +1 bonus to its attack and damage rolls, unless it is a magic weapon that already has a bonus to those rolls. This bonus increases to +2 when you reach 9th level, and it increases to +3 when you reach 17th level.
Extra Attack
Starting at 6th level, when you take the Attack action, you can attack twice, instead of once, with your Steelpact weapon. Your Steelpact weapon is now also considered a magical weapon for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical weapon damage.
Oresight
Also at 6th level, you can see and feel through the metal around you. While you are standing on or touching a metal or steel surface, you gain tremorsense out to 30 feet through that surface.
In addition, you gain the ability to sense the presence of precious metals around you. As an action, you can open your awareness to magically detect ores, minerals, and worked metals. For the next minute, you are aware of the location of each vein of ore, crystal, or mineral within 60 feet of you, each worked metal item worth at least 100 gold pieces, and each collection of identical items with a total value of at least 100 gold pieces (such as a pile of gold). This awareness can penetrate any solid nonmagical barrier. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
Iron Grip
At 14th level, whenever you cast a spell that attempts to restrain or paralyse a creature that is wearing heavy armour, or that attempts to disarm a creature that is holding a metal weapon or shield, you can use your reaction to choose a number of targets of the spell equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1). Those targets suffer disadvantage on the initial saving throw of the spell you cast, as the metal around them bends to your will.
Apotheosis of Steel
You learn the Tenser’s Transformation spell, and you can cast it without expending a spell slot by spending 6 sorcery points. When you cast it, you can attack thrice, instead of twice, when you take the Attack action for the duration of the spell. For the same duration, you take on a metallic form, gaining resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. However, while in this metallic form, your body can be targeted by the Heat Metal spell.
