Monk
Base Class: Monk

As a child of the streets, you unlocked your potential and tapped into your ki without the specialised training of one of the traditional monastic orders. Monks of the Way of the Street Urchin learned to fight in order to survive, make underhanded deals, and utilise manipulation and social networking to get what they want. Many monks of the Way of the Street Urchin find themselves unrecognised by monks of the more traditional monastic traditions, while many great sages and grandmasters find a sense of purity in the way that monks of the Way of the Street Urchin have managed to tap into their ki.

Way of the Street Urchin Features

Monk Level Feature
3rd Resourceful Brawler, Street Smarts
6th Always On Guard, Cunning Action
11th Roll with the Punches
17th Extra Attack

Resourceful Brawler

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can utilise underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand. As a bonus action, you can throw dirt, sand, or a similar powdered substance into the eyes of an enemy within 5 ft. of you. When you do, they must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your Ki Save DC or suffer disadvantage on the next weapon attack roll they make. A target is unaffected by this feature if they do not rely on vision to sense their enemies.

Street Smarts

Starting at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Charisma (Deception) and the Charisma (Persuasion) skills, and with thieves' tools.

Always On Guard

Starting at 6th level, you have become more attuned to the world around you, being always on guard against the threats waiting in every alley. You gain a +5 bonus to your Passive Perception, and you cannot be surprised.

Cunning Action

Starting at 6th level, your quick thinking and agility allow you to move and act quickly. You can take a bonus action on each of your turns in combat. This action can be used only to take the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.

Roll with the Punches

Beginning at 11th level, whenever someone makes a melee weapon attack against you, you can use your reaction to make an unarmed strike against them. If your dexterity score is greater than that of your attacker, you make your unarmed strike before they can hit you with their weapon attack.

Extra Attack

Beginning at 17th level, you can attack three times, instead of twice, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
