Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

You have spent your youth perfecting your unarmed fighting style. Your hands are fast and powerful. Whether it was in competition or for survival you have become a fearsome opponent who is often underestimated as you appear to be unarmed.

Style Points

Pugilists unconsciously tap into their own inner strength in the form of fighting in style. This is not esoteric or mystical energy that flows through the multiverse, but the result of determination forged over a lifetime of hardship with a never-say-die attitude. You can teach someone how to fight but you could never teach someone how to be a pugilist. The secret of mastering style doesn’t come from disciplined study or rigorous training, it comes from years of wanting and needing. Your abilities are as follows;

 Guard up

As a bonus action, you raise your fists and brace yourself for an incoming blow, spend 1 style die and gain hit points equal to your style die + pugilist level + your Constitution modifier.

The old one two

When you use an attack action and hit, you can spend a style die to make an additional unarmed strike on your turn.

Leg sweep

When you land an attack you can spend a style die and use your bonus action to grab the opponent and lean into them whilst sweeping their legs with a swift kick, DEX saving throw or be knocked prone.

Throat punch

When making an attack you can spend a style die to aim for the throat (depending on the foe - DMs discretion), if the attack hits it does normal damage, the foe must make a CONS saving throw or lose their movement on their next turn as they try and recover from the blow.

Smack and grab

When attacking a foe you can spend a style die and use a bonus action to grab the neck of your opponent and grapple them.

Dig Deep

Starting at 3rd level, you discover a strength inside you that can’t be broken. As a bonus action, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage for one minute. At the end of that minute you gain a level of exhaustion.

Fisticuffs

At 3rd level, your years of fighting in back alleys and taverns have given you mastery over combat styles that use unarmed strikes and pugilist weapons, which are simple melee weapons without the two-handed property, whips, and improvised weapons. You may not use the finesse property of a weapon while using it as a pugilist weapon. You gain the following benefits while you are unarmed or using only pugilist weapons and you are wearing light or no armor and not using a shield:• You can roll a d6 in place of the normal damage of your unarmed strike or pugilist weapon. This die changes as you gain pugilist levels.

Tough Skin

You've taken so many beatings your skin has calloused over time, you use your constitution instead of your dex for your AC.

Fast hands

Starting at the 5th level you can use your reaction to make an attack of opportunity to make an unarmed attack against anyone who enters your area.

Fast Feet

Starting 7th level you gain advantage on DEX saves.

Down but not out

Starting at level 10 if you take damage that reduces you to half your maximum hit point pool, you can use a reaction to grant temporary hit points equal to your pugilist level + your CONS modifier and you regain all your style points. This feature can be used once per long rest.

Peak Endurance

Starting at level 15, you add 10ft to your movement speed and double your jump distance as you have spent years developing your endurance and fitness.

Ultimate strike

Starting at level 18, your combat skills have been honed to a level you've not yet experienced and you have developed your own "ultimate move"/"signature strike". You can name and flavour your signature move.

You make an unarmed attack on your turn, you can jump in any direction up to your movement speed and make an attack roll with advantage if the attack hits it is a critical strike and the creature is stunned until the end of your next turn.

If your attack hits you cannot do it again until the end of a long rest. If it misses you can try again after 1 minute.
