Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of Five Beasts look to the natural world for spiritual and martial guidance. Those who follow the Way of Five Beasts identify an animal fighting style as an inspiration, adopting its strategy.
Bestial Fighting Styles
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, choose from one of the following fighting styles.
Way of the Tiger
You are as deadly and fearsome as the tiger. When you hit with an unarmed attack, you deal an extra 1d4 damage.
Way of the Crane
You are as elegant and exact as the crane. Your reach increases by 5ft when making unarmed attacks, or attacks with a weapon which lacks the reach property. Additionally, when you attack an enemy that is 10ft or further from you, add 2 to your attack roll.
Way of the Dragon
You are as wise and mystical as the dragon. You gain a number of ki points equal to your proficiency modifier.
Way of the Snake.
You are as cunning and deceptive as the snake. When you make an attack against an enemy, you may choose to feint. The target must make an intelligence saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failure, all attacks you make against that target are made with advantage.
Way of the Leopard
You are as quick and aggressive as the leopard. Once per turn when you make an attack against an enemy, you may make one additional unarmed attack as part of the same action.
Animal Instincts
At 6th level, you gain your instincts have been honed to perfection, allowing you to respond to and avoid danger. You gain the following effects:
- Advantage on initiative rolls.
- Plus 2 bonus to Armor Class.
- Whenever you take the Dodge action in combat, you can spend one Hit Die to heal yourself. Roll the die, add your Dexterity and Wisdom modifiers, and regain a number of hit points equal to the total (minimum of 1).
Fighting Style Mastery
With great dedication comes mastery. Beginning at 11th level, you gain an additional feature based on your chosen fighting style.
Way of the Tiger
Each of your blows is more devastating than the last. Each time you make an attack, add a stacking +2 bonus to damage rolls for the rest of the turn.
Way of the Crane
Your precision is unmatched, allowing you to target weak spots. When you make an attack, you may choose one of the following weak spots:
- Legs. You make the attack with a -2 penalty to the attack roll. On a hit, reduce your opponents move speed by half.
- Arms. You make the attack with a -2 penalty to the attack roll. On a hit, your opponent makes attacks with disadvantage until the end of their turn.
- Eyes. You make the attack with a -5 penalty to the attack roll. On a hit, your opponent is blinded for three rounds.
- Throat. You make the attack with -5 penalty to the attack roll. On a hit, your opponent takes an additional 3d6 damage.
Way of the Dragon
The wellspring of power within you is truly unmatched. Your additional ki points increases to twice your proficiency modifier, and whenever you spent ki points you may choose to heal a target within 60ft for a number of d4 equal the number of ki points spent.
Way of the Snake.
Even the most brilliant of foes are no match for your darting hands. When you feint, your opponent automatically fails their saving throw, and all attacks against that target from any source are made with advantage until the beginning of its turn.
Way of the Leopard
You are an unrelenting force. When you deal damage with an attack, you may make an additional attack as part of the same action. Each time you make an additional attack with this feature, you gain a stacking -2 penalty to attack rolls for the rest of the turn.
