Base Class: Monk
The Way of The Unleashed Spirit is a martial arts form that focusus around unleashing one's Ki from their body to go into a state of destructive fury. Monks who follow this tradition are skilled in controlling their rage and anger into devistating blows to destroy their enemies, focusing through their Ki to do so. practitioners of this form may look like raging brutes on the battlefield, but in reality, they are in full controll over their body while fighting.
Feared One
At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill. If you already have this proficiency, your proficiency bonus is doubled for ability checks made with the skill.
Ki Overcharge
Also at 3rd level, you have learned how to overcharge your body with Ki in order to enter a violent fighting state. You may enter this state as a bonus action on your turn. When you do so, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute or untill you are knocked unconcious:
- You gain an additional pool of Ki points to draw upon during your overcharge, the number of which equals your proficiency bonus. expended Ki Points from this pool carry over between uses of this feature and reset on a short or long rest.
- You can add your proficiency bonus to the damage dealt by your Flurry of Blows attacks.
- You gain a number of temporary hit points equal to a roll of your martial arts die plus your monk level.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier for free, any additional uses will cause you to gain a level of exhaustion after the overcharge ends. you regain all expended uses on a long rest.
Ferocious Strikes
At 6th level you know how to make attacks with reckless ferocity. Once per turn when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can choose to make the attack Ferocious. When you do so, you increase the damage of the attack by 1d8. In addition, you can choose to spend a number of Ki points (the maximum number of which equals your proficiency bonus minus 1) when you use your Ferocious Strike to increase the damage by an additional 1d8 per Ki point spent.
Unyielding Spirit
At 11th level, the raw Ki channeling through your body makes you resistant to dying. You roll all death saving throws with advantage.
Unleashed Overcharge
At 17th level, you gain full control over your overcharge powers, allowing you to bend them to your every will and whim. while you are in your Ki Overcharge, you gain the following benefits:
- you are resistant to all damage and immune to being charmed, frightened, or put to sleep by magical means.
- when you take the attack action on your turn you can attack 3 times instead of twice.

Posted Aug 26, 2021I would make Ferocious strike more interested in making use of the ki extra ki points granted by the bread and butter of the class, and make the following changes; At 6th level, you know how to make attacks with the ferocity of your very life force. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend a number of ki points listed to use one of the following features below. You can only select each option once per round.
1. Striking Vyper, you can spend 1 ki point and add an additional martial arts die of damage to the attack. If you do, you grant the next attack made against that creature advantage.
2. Howling Wolf, you can spend 1 ki point and force the target of the attack to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, that creature loses the ability to cast spells with a level lower than twice your Wisdom modifier for the next minute. On success, the attack continues as normal with no further effect.
3. Raging Tiger, you can spend 2 ki points to deal 3d10 Force damage to the target of the attack, in addition to the attack's damage. You can only use this feature while you are in your ki overcharge state.
4. Screaming Pheonix, you can spend 1 ki point and force the target of the attack to make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, that creature is blinded until the end of your next turn. On a success, the attack continues as normal with no further effect.
5. Roaring Dragon, you can spend 2 ki points and add an additional martial arts die of damage to the attack. If you do, that creature becomes frightened of you for the next minute. You can only use this ki feature if you are in your ki overcharge state.
As for the unyielding spirit, a simple endurance effect does belong here. I would probably add; You now gain double the temporary hit points from your Overcharge feature.
Finally, the capstone being an improvement on the overcharge ability is definitely the correct direction, but the resistance to all damage is stepping on the barbarian's toes to much, right? I propose the following instead,
Enlightened Fury
At 17th level, you gain full control over your overcharge powers, allowing you to bend your overflowing life energy and the cosmos itself to your will. When you roll initiative, if you have no more uses of your overcharge ability, you immediately regain 1 use. Additionally, while you are in your Ki Overcharge, you gain the following additional benefits:
1. You gain a fly speed equal to your movement.
2. You gain 120 ft Blindsight.
3. You gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
4. Any Critical hit against you becomes a normal hit
