Base Class: Fighter
To become a Medjai is to walk the path of kings. To learn the martial techniques of the hazardous environments of the desert, sea, and mountains. For the young apprentices education they are given an heirloom. Within this item is a spirit guide in the form of a powerful wizard that became a magi to guide the next generation. For each warrior that takes up the mantle of a Medjai they learn the ritual that summons the magi to their side to help guide and teach them the ways of the Medjai. With it’s mentorship the warrior can learn the techniques of the legends before them. Medjai’s use a variety of methods to defeat their foes. Using speed and tenacity as their main weapons they can evade and strike while coming out unharmed in the process. The Sand Warriors of the aesir coast perform an number of dances that resemble the many different weathers that occurs in the regions even the supernatural ones
Dervish Training
3rd-level Blade Dancer feature
A Blade Dancer is so certain of their movements that they are unaffected by adverse conditions. You gain a bonus to your AC if you aren’t using a shield or if you are not encumbered. At 3rd level the bonus is a +1 at 10th level it becomes a +2 and at 18th level it becomes a +3 bonus.
In addition, whenever you make a Dexterity (Acrobatics) or a Charisma(Performance) check you can treat a roll of 8 or lower on the d20 as an 9.
War Dance
3rd-level Blade Dancer feature
A dervish can become a whirling dancer of death a certain number of times per day. As a bonus action, you can enter this dance and gain the following benefits, which last for 1 minute:
- When you make a melee attack on your turn, your reach for it is 5 feet greater than normal.
- Each time you make a weapon attack during your turn, your movement speed increase's by 5 feet until the start of your next turn.
- Once per turn, you can deal an extra damage when you hit a creature with a weapon attack. The damage equal's 1d4 for each time you hit the target with an attack within the last minute. This bonus reset's once you miss the targeted creature with an weapon attack.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Movement Mastery
7th-level Blade Dancer feature
Fast is the shifting sands of the desert, you learn how to evade damage with your training. When you are targeted by an attack or a magical effect that target's an area that includes you, you can use your reaction to move up to half your movement speed to an unoccupied space you can see. If your new position is out of range of the attack or magical effect, it misses you or you automatically succeed the saving throw.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Dance of Death
10th-level Blade Dancer feature
When a melee attack reduces an creature to 0 hit points, any excess damage from that attack might carry over to another creature nearby. Choose another creature within 5 feet of the original target and within your reach. If the original attack roll would hit the second creature, you can apply any remaining damage to it. If you reduce the additional creature to 0 hit points with the remaining damage, repeat this process, carrying over the remaining damage until there are no valid targets, or until the damage carried over fails to reduce a creature to 0 hit points.
In addition, you can treat any one-handed melee weapons as if it had the Light or Finesse property when in your war dance.
A Thousand Cuts
15th-level Blade Dancer feature
When you use your Action Surge feature, you can move up to twice your speed without provoking opportunity attacks until the start of your next turn, and when you move within 10 feet of any other creature during this turn, you can deal 1d4 slashing damage to that creature as a elemental force of slashing wind surrounds you. A creature can receive this damage only once per turn. Damage from this feature counts towards the number of times you hit with an attack for your War Dance feature.
Whirling Dervish
18th-level Blade Dancer feature
You are now the master of dance. As a result, you gain the following effects to your subclass features:
- The extra movement speed of your War dance increases to 10 feet
- You gain twice your Dervish Training bonus to your AC while you are moving.
- When you perform your Movement Mastery feature and you move into a space within a creature within your reach, you can make one weapon attack against a creature as part of that reaction.
