Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

For one reason or another, an ancient wyrm has granted you a taste of their power in a magical pact. Perhaps your patron is a metallic dragon who beseeches you to be a force for good, or to enact law. Or perhaps they are chromatic, and expect mayhem, or raw combat prowess.

Maybe they have chosen you to act on their behalf as they enter into old age. Or they could just think it a fun idea. Either way, a warlock of this type will gain the following benefits.

Expanded Spell List

The Chromatic Elder Wyrrm lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

Scales of your Master

When choosing this patron at level 1, a warlock chooses scale color and their respective element, similar to a draconic bloodline sorcerer, or dragonborn. Your hands and wrists are covered in said scales. You may use either scaled hand as a spellcasting focus.

You gain resistance to the element of your master, and one cantrip, as described below. Your bonus cantrip counts as a warlock cantrip for you, but does not count against your current amount of cantrips known.

You also gain proficiency in the intimidation skill.

Scales that Spread

At 6th level, the scales from your hands cover your shoulders and hardened. They’ve even started growing on your feet. Boots and gloves have become incredibly uncomfortable to wear. Your chromatic scales crackle with your elemental energy.

When using a spell that deals the elemental damage type associated with your scales (eg. fire for red scales), you may choose to add half your half your Charisma modifier to each damage die rolled. You may do this a number of times equal to 1 + half your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1), per long rest.

You also gain an unarmored AC of 13 + your Dexterity modifier.

Into my Eyes

At level 10, your eyes have fully changed by now. They are finally completely draconic in style. And, depending on who you ask, they are either incredibly handsome, or just plain creepy. With a glare, you can magically dissuade your foes.

As an action, pick a number of foes within 60 feet of you, up to your Charisma modifier, who can see your scary dragon eyes. They make a Wisdom Saving Throw against your warlock casting DC, taking 3D8 psychic damage, or half as much on success. Additionally, upon failure of this save, said foes are also frightened of you for 30 seconds. This requires no concentration on your part. You may perform this painful gaze 1 time per long rest.

You also gain double your proficiency bonus with your intimidation skill.

Dragon Heart

At level 14, your scales have left little of your original skin exposed, also leaving behind so much of the person you used to be. You barely recognize yourself, even; something perhaps you’re either proud of or spiteful over. You bleed rage when you spot a foe.

You may spend up to 2 of your own hit dice, adding to damage dealt by your Scales that Spread or Into my Eyes features.

Additionally, any foes you've successfully frightened with your Into my Eyes feature must flee from you using their action to either dash or disengage away. If they refuse to do so, they become considered restrained where they stand.

Lastly, you gain one extra use of your Scales that Spread and Into my Eyes features per long rest.
