College of Crowns

Bards of the College of Crowns do not busy themselves with songs at village campfires, or tales told in local taverns, they instead believe their skills can and should be used in other, more powerful, lucrative, and large-scale ways. Bards of this college are often found in the halls of kings and lords, devoting themselves to the life at court and the politics of kingdoms and nations. They are not satisfied to live and die with the common folk, or even the common hero, but use their magicks and ambition to pursue higher goals. Haughty as their ways may seem, it works; bards of the College of Crowns often becoming powerful advisors, or even rulers in their own right. But contrasted to their success is their downfall, for playing a game of thrones is dangerous work, and even the mighty fall, and fall all the farther from their lofty heights.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Crowns at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the History skill, the Forgery Kit, and an additional language.

Silver Tongue

Also at 3rd level, when you make a Charisma skill check, you can treat any roll lower than twice your Charisma modifier as if you had rolled equal to twice your Charisma modifier.

Stalwart Mind

At 6th level, your mind has hardened against the wiles and charms of others. You have advantage on saves against being charmed and always know when a magical effect attempts to affect your mind.

Commanding Presence

Also at 6th level, whenever a turn ends in combat and before the next turn begins, you may use your reaction to expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration and choose an ally that can hear you within 30 feet, who may immediately move up to half their movement speed and make a weapon attack. If this attack hits, it gains a bonus to its damage equal to the Inspiration dice rolled.

Arcane Authority

At 14th level, choose a 1st level Enchantment spell from any class, which you learn. This spell is always prepared, does not count against your total prepared spells, and you can cast it at 1st level at will, or expend spell slots to cast it at higher levels.
