First off thanks for the support. But please is it possible to actually wait for the new book to come out before curse removes the unearthed arcana stuff ? Because right now we been missing gith races ever since it was confirmed into the tome of foes. But reality is... That book was not out until months later. Making people unable to create gith while waiting for the book.
I know you guys receive stuff before hand but this is ridiculous. You should remove the stuff only when the book comes out not months before it does !
Just my two cents.

Pretty sure Gith were never supported in DDB. The Gith & Eladrin UA article came out in 2017. DDB didn't support UA content until January 2018.

The first UA here was January 2018: Circle of Spores, Brute, and School of Invention. I made a sporecdruid to check it out. Maybe there were homebrew girth that were removed?
There were and following guidelines, they were removed.
To explain further - knowing that these published homebrew were going to need to be unpublished, the decision was made to do so as soon as this was known, rather than leave the situation and allow more people to use these published homebrew or publish further homebrew on this.
Had we waited until MToF was published before revoking the homebrew, I expect that many more homebrew would have been published (a quick check shows a significant amount of gith-related homebrew submitted during that period) and also many more people would have added the existing homebrew to their collections and then been (reasonably) upset when it was taken away.
Acting immediately reduced the impact.
I will also note that unpublishing the existing Gith homebrew didn't remove it from anyone who was already using it for a character - such characters continue to work (the homebrew isn't deleted, just set so that it's no longer public).
Also, at all points, it has been perfectly ok to create your own homebrew Gith for use in private campaigns. The only restriction was on publishing them.
Thanks for the explanation. The only reason i had ever made this thread back then... was that my players had met a gith in our campaign and i had made the character using DDB. but then once they met him i decided to change him from githyankee to githzerai and at that point the whole thing was removed. and thus i couldn't change anything anymore.
as for those who say the brute and all was the first thing... that UA appeared way later then when UA appeared here on DDB. giths were used temporarily until new UA came out. just to be clear, i had no homebrew giths in my collections, still has none in my collection.
thanks for the explanation. i just hope we dont lose UA stuff just because of confirmation of being in the next 6 month books.

Hi... Let me rephrase and explain that title.

Also, there's nothing stopping anyone from recreating UA races or subclasses content as private homebrew.
The first ua we had availlable was the giths.

No, it wasn't.
The Gith & Eladrin UA came out in Sept 11, 2017; that's 4 whole months before DDB announced UA support on January 15, 2018, which was the Brute/Spores/Invention UA that ArwensDaughter mentioned.
Googling things is easy.

Ah - so these were a homebrew version and not the Sept 17 UA version. Thanks for clarifying, and explaining the logic.
