The effect field in the spells section of the character sheet is designed to give very brief information on the type of effect that a spell has.
As you can see from the spell section, the effect listed is charmed* with the asterisk implying that it's not just the charmed condition, but requires further reading of the spell description.
Creatures that can't be charmed are immune to this effect.
which has been interpreted to mean that the spell is a form of charm spell. The spell and the suggestion spell are fairly classic charms in the wider concept, as they magically coerce the target(s) to perform actions that they likely wouldn't perform otherwise.
To be super clear: Mass Suggestion doesn't inflict the charmed condition. If you have some sort of feature or magic item that makes you better at casting spells that charm people, they're not relevant to Mass Suggestion. If a creature has advantage on saving throws against being charmed, that doesn't help against Mass Suggestion.
However, since creatures immune to the charmed condition are also immune to Mass Suggestion, it can be useful to see "charmed*" in the spell summary as long as you keep in mind that you have to read further due to that asterisk, like Stormknight said.
I would actually interpret this the same way that BanjoWind did: the page for the Mass Suggestion does show the "fancy C" that indicates the Charmed condition (look at Charm Person for reference), whereas Suggestion shows "Control (...)" under 'Damage/Effect'.

My spell list shows mass suggestion is a charmed effect, I believe this is incorrect.

From the full description of the spell mass suggestion:

Okay thank you. But then the question becomes why doesn’t suggestion (2nd level spell) show the same thing?

But the link provided https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells/mass-suggestion says it does ?
The effect of the spell stating "charmed" is a plain english term, "to gain or influence," rather than explicitly calling out the condition charmed.
The full text of the spell states exactly what the spell does in a nice amount of detail.

I hope i don’t sound argumentative, but what does the fancy C symbol preceding “Charmed” mean?
Concentration.
EDIT: Or maybe not, as Lyle notes below....
