This is an idea that would apply when homebrewing is opened up. Allow for import from a PDF. Specifically, if someone purchases something from dmsguild.com and if the creator follows the standard syntax/layout (like how spells, monsters, items, etc are listed in the PBH, MM, DMG, etc), then be able to import all that information into a custom spell, monster, item.
Thanks!

Be careful what you Wish for... your DM may just give it to you!
It'd be REALLY nice if monsters, items, spells, etc. listed which book/source(s) they were from, and what pages they can be found on in the printed material. that way, if someone has the printed material, a dm could tell them where to look if necessary, or if the person wanted to reference it later at the table and not have a digital device open. ie, there could be numerous use cases where knowing where the thing came from
The filter section could really do with an option to filter by classes which can attune to the item, so that you could search for just druid items, or just cleric armours.
Uh... I don't know if this has been asked before but uh... and this is gonna sound like a really basic or stupid question but.... aren't common items on the items lists...?
Like I can see for example Club+1 & Dagger+1. But not just... "Club" or "Dagger"? Am I assuming that its not there since most likely people who own the books would know what those already dooooo~?
Basic Items can be found in the Compendium under the Equipment section.
oooooh ok that explains it. But still shouldn't they still be in the compendium? I mean its not really a full items list even though admittedly it would be showing up twice on the site.
I don't know if this has been posted before, or if anything is being done to fit this, but I believe there are several items that aren't in the items list, namely the potion of longevity. Thanks!
I'm only putting this here because I haven't found a separate thread to make suggestions for the "Characters" section yet, and this thread is kind of related.
Can you link to the Weapon, Armor, Tools and Skills tables/pages in each class' Class Feature - Proficiencies section?
I'm pretty sure that's going to be something they're planning to do. I know that [magicitem] is magic item because they want [item] to be for mundane items, so once those tooltips are done I bet they'll be linked to the classes. The skills are already linked as tooltips, I believe.
I love the listing of all the different items but it would be nice to have the relevant stats on the item's expanded description page for reference. The descriptions are great but right after I would love to have the AC, DC, damage, bonuses, average cost, etc... for said items from the charts in the compendium. That way it is all in one spot instead of having to go to two different pages when you are looking up relevant equipment. Does that make sense?
I know Pricing has been brought up, and I understand that magical items, especially rare ones, are hard to price. If you could put prices for only common items, such as health potions, common weapons, armor, etc. That way we would have a good base to look at. I am a fairly new DM, and there were very few sources for this information, and DDB made me excited for this very reason. It would help beginners start their campaigns, and as time goes on and more magic items are distributed the DM can then decide what he wants to do with the pricing. Just having the common items would really help!

Hiya Brocomonsta,
take a look at the compendium! There's prices in there for all of the common items, including potion of healing.
Hey everyone - thanks for the feedback here. I hear the comments about grouping the various "Adamantine [Insert Armor Here]" into a single entry. We'll see what we can do about that. We are highly-focused on making sure the listings are quick and snappy. Using this kind of grouping will certainly make us pay a query performance cost, but we'll explore some options.
Thanks!
I just found the new Adamantine Armor entry in the items listing and I really like it. It comes up when I seach for an applicable armor type, it does not clutter the list view, it shows the necessary information, and (most importantly) it shows the base armor AC.
Now we need the entries "Mithral Armor", "Armor, +1", "Armor, +2", "Armor, +3", each with applicable armor types, and "Armor of Resistance" with applicable resistances and armor types. After that, we need similar groupings for weapons. That would really clean up that item list.

Anyway, good job so far!
Yes, we're rolling out the groupings this week across the board - all of them will be in soon.
So far the search feature is really good, but was wanting to find an item specific to a class. Could you tag an item as thief, fighter or warlock and make the system easier to use for that purpose?
The navigation could use a tweak or two. You have a breadcrumb system but is does not follow the path you took to a particular page. For example on the items page I was looking at the wand of magic missile and then followed the embedded link to the spell. Instead of Home / Magic Items / Magic Missile the breadcrumbs were Home / Spells / Magic Missile. You then have to use the back button to get to magic items again. You could store the filtered URI in the Magic Items breadcrumb to back to the filtered list in Items.

That's a great feature request that's been asked for before. Hopefully it'll be in! *fingers crossed* ©sorce

Hello Jerry_in_space,
Right now the DDB tools only have content from the Basic Rules (SRD) and will have all other content available when fully released in summer 2017.

Hi all
Quick feedback, could you may be list the items by levels, meaning who could use these, at what level, a suggestion for beginning DM"S
I feel like sorting by rarity as well as searching by rarity would be a good idea.
