Also, these forums need a search tool (using smartphone, maybe the pc browser based site has one...)
Banshee isn't found in the SRD, and therefore isn't available during Beta.
For Forum search it is there, rotate your phone over to landscape, should be a button in the top right corner (pretty sure the devs know about this one).
All WotC material will be in at launch under various pay scales (unknown details). As for the encounter builder, we're not sure exactly what tools are planned but I'm pretty sure a lot of builders/generators are planned.
Homunculus - This monster entry would benefit from some reference or link to who its master would be.
Who creates these things? If it's a spell, a link to that would be easy enough. Does the master immediately know if a homunculus is killed? How many homunculi can be around at one time?
Here is a suggestion have where you canselect and save monsters for a game. Could be like book marks or list of monsters selected. Or have monsters by printed campaign if last would be cool to include intro to the campaign monster list like I am running the sunless citadel this would have saved me time but just typing them is faster than having to flip back and forth in the monuter manual
I know this is probably not included as may not be in the printed source material, but a brief text description of each monster would be great. Something to read out to players when they first meet a monster, particularly those who don't know the DND bestiary. Better than just showing them a picture.
Hello, so far loving D&D Beyond. However, unless I've missed it, I don't see lair actions anywhere in the monster codex section. Would be really nice to have that information available.

It appears that whilst the SRD intro to Monsters mentions Lair actions (and how they go on Initiative count 20), none of the Legendary monsters have Lair actions listed in the SRD (Yes, I went and skimmed through every monster, no I don't have a life).
I'm just getting started with the monster lists. I was wondering if you knew a way to adjust the monsters just like you could in the 4th edition monster builder? I haven't figured it out yet in this Beta. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you from one DM to another.
First up, this is really, really helpful and useful and thank you.
Second (with the obligatory apology if this has already been covered, but I couldn't see it): is there a way to filter monsters by 'Type'?
Type is listed in the results table, and you can filter by all (most?) other categories, like size, alignment, etc.
Sorting by Type is available, which goes some of the way, but for example, if you're looking for a Humanoid monster to throw at people, you have to wade through a bunch of cats.

But again, mostly, thanks, this is excellent.
You can select one of the type circles at the top of the Monster page to filter down. I'm not seeing any Cats in the Humanoid type category, did you have multiple selections? If you had been searching for Beasts and then click on Humanoids, you'd need to unselect Beasts to remove them from the filter.
Oh no, haha, so it does, thank you. I've even done this, I don't know why I missed it this time?
Maybe it's more a UI question - (this time around) I completely missed the circles as part of the filtering menu. Maybe because they sit above the red button that says 'filter monsters' and because no other filter sources have graphics?
Also, playing with it now, it would be useful to be able to see all Types at once, so that you can see the combinations you've selected at a glance.
But again, thank you, not a functionality thing. (Oh, and cats = lions, I had all monsters selected.)
I know this has to have been stated before but there's AQUATIC listed as a potential choice in the search filter and no actual AQUATIC in the drop down menu. (I had a screen shot but can't post that for some raisin. *shrug*)
EDIT: the scrollfunction for the drop down wasn't working on my tablet so I didn't see 'underdark' and 'underwater'.
I hope that at some point you will add in monsters from the officially published adventures, such as all the different cultist types from Princes of the Apocalypse. I'm currently running it, and many of the enemies encountered are not presently represented here. I LOVE DnDBeyondso far!!

I love it but there are a few things i think it could have:
1. the ability to pick and choose monsters and have their stats on one page so that dms don't have to have a million tabs open during an encounter.
2. the ability to maybe save encounters and have it automatically stack the xp and adjusted xp gained in that encounter.
Encounter creation is absolutely necessary. Manually switching between browsers tabs is not practical in the same way that flipping between pages in the Monster Manual is not practical. These encounters sheets must be printable for easy physical DM reference during combat.
Sigh...can't find any way to filter by damage dealt type. In specific psychic damage. I'm trying to build an encounter based on what type of damage the monsters deal to the party?

Wary the wizard who focuses on homebrew, for he can create nightmares that you wouldn't even dream of
probably been asked and answered but, will the volos guide monsters be added at launch.
Also i would like a encounter creater or something so i can save the statblocks for each monster in an encounter in one place for easy access.
loving all of this so far btw!

I'd like to search for more than one monster name at the same time in a logical statement:
"goblin or bugbear"
as a useful example.

It it super platform. I really like it.
I hope in future to see the ability to create your own monsters with linkage to spells with grouping them to some categories.
