Not being able to include my Pact of the Tome cantrips has been listed repeatedly in this thread. This is my biggest issues as well. I can add them in the notes section, like I did with my Book of Ancient Secrets, but it is inconvenient to not have them on the listing of spells.
The good news is this will be added very soon - it's at the top of our list.
Cantrips are and always were workng as intended. The rituals are the missing part.
Actually no my Tome cantrips are not showing up.

The lack of inflection in text means that a reader of any post adds their own inflection as they "verbalize" it in their head. I write long and repetitive in an effort to be clear and avoid my intent from being skewed or inverted. I am also bad at examples. It is common for people to skim my posts pull out the idea they think I mean or want to argue against or focus on my bad example instead of the point I am actually trying to make. I apologies for the confusion my failure to be clear and concise creates.
Playing around with it a bit more this morning... Thank you thank you thank you for the ad hoc custom actions/bonus actions/etc! I'm helping my players get setup for tomorrow and it's already clear they'll be able to remember special item bonuses a lot more easily. My dragonborn is pretty happy that the breath weapon is RIGHT THERE on attacks, too.
Very disheartening to read the official comeback of staff as essentially saying: “you’re making assumptions, we asked hundreds and thousands of others that don’t agree with you, you’re wrong”. Benefit of the doubt here, I’m gonna day it wasn’t intended like that, but it sure sounded like it.
Point blank, TL;DR, I tried using the new layout for my iPad Pro last night in a 4 hour session. I was slowing down combat with every encounter. It is unusable on a tablet in any way that is conducive to keeping a game flowing.
This was not due to my “being fresh” or “inexperienced” with the new layout, I can adapt quickly. Having to toggle back and forth between 4 completely separate screens mid combat is unusable. Not to mention then needing to dig into sub-menus on each respective screen. Combat, Spells, Feats, and then my hit points are on FOUR separate screens. That boggles my mind. Old layout? I could just scroll up and down on a single page. Please note I am specifically griping about the tablet layout. In its current state, I am regretting the hundreds I’ve invested in this site. Were collapsables ideal? No. But they were much better than this.
As a customer who has shelled out for all digital content as well as a yearly subscription, I hope this is a top priority to address. You want tested feedback? I tried it last game and literally had to switch to a physical character sheet I hadn’t been updating because THAT was faster than toggle between four screens and then digging through additional sub-menus for all that is needed in combat.
Either A) provide a way to toggle to the old view and cal it classic or something. Or B) make the desktop version available for tablets. While I have a few minor complaints about the desktop version (I think AC should always be present, for instance), it is infinitely better than what is currently offered on iPad, which in its current iteration is practically unusable. In fact, I think I like the changes overall to the new desktop layout. But the tablet update essentially hobbled my iPad Pro and made me a weak link in group’s session.
I think the symbols for damage types are kind of weird. Radiant, thunder, necrotic, the icons are confusing. I think I would prefer a word or abbreviation there.
Mobile layout has really suffered. Swiping between sections and seeing all skills on one page were what made me switch to this from a third party character sheet app. I feel it’s cumbersome and less intuitive.
On the whole I am very, very happy with the new sheet. It feels like everything I need is right here--yeah there may be tabs but they are clearly marked, and nothing is buried in endless collapsable boxes. While I definitely understand the criticism that this feels like information overload, I would challenge those users to spend a little more time with it, getting to know it. Remember that when you first used the old sheet it took some time to find where everything was, at least it certainly did for me, and a lot of that stuff was nestled in very unintuitive places. We all got used to it, and it sucks to be asked to get used to something new, but I think (I hope?) you'll find that this layout is actually a lot more natural and intuitive once you really get a good feel for it. This is a big change, for sure, and big changes take a little getting used to. I think we could all benefit from taking some time to get to know it, preferably at the table, vs. being so reactive. I say this as someone who loved the old sheet too, and find paper character sheets to be generally poorly designed and difficult to use, particularly when you're looking for something specific.
I do think that the mobile version still needs a little finessing, though I actually think the mobile version looks/works a lot better than I was expecting, knowing how much effort was being put into the desktop experience. I vastly prefer the page selection tool over swiping, but I do understand why others may not. Is it possible to have both swiping and the floating selection tool? I don't see why they'd be mutually exclusive. The main thing I noticed is that combat and actions really ought to be merged into one panel.
Anyway, the revamp looks absolutely gorgeous on my actual desktop, and the sidebar works perfectly in both fixed and overlay mode. I definitely prefer fixed mode, but can see overlay being useful on smaller resolutions, like my laptop.
Speaking of my laptop ... the sheet still looks beautiful, and there's no missing usability, but there are some annoying little things that I'd love to see fixed. Mainly, on desktop, the sidebar disappears completely when hidden. This is not the case on my laptop, where the edge of it stays peeking out even when it's hidden:
Not the kind of thing that's going to ruin my game, but it is pretty distracting. I
f I have the sidebar aligned to the right on my laptop, it doesn't actually hide at all. It stays present on the screen:
I also am not able to choose between fixed and overlay modes on my laptop. I'm guessing this is because of the smaller resolution, but I would vastly prefer the rest of the sheet be "squished" in order for me to be able to use the fixed sidebar. This isn't a make-or-break kind of thing, of course, but I really like having the entire sheet available to me while looking at the sidebar. It's possible this would matter less to me if I didn't always have the constant reminder of the sidebar even when it's supposed to be hidden, though.
Other thoughts:
I really like how the spells are organized, but it could be useful to have an "all" tabs as well so you can look through every spell regardless of level.
There needs to be added functionality to select level of exhaustion, rather than just you are or aren't exhausted.
While I understand it seems redundant, I echo the call for a "limited use" section that features all of your limited use abilities collected in one place. This would be in addition to rather than instead of the other places these are located such as class features, racial traits, etc. I love that they are in the places where they should be, but could see a certain usefulness in having them all together as well, depending on people's play styles at the table.
I love how easy it is to customize things. I'm glad to hear you're working on making this even easier/more intuitive with things like equipment and so on. Ad hoc feats are a great addition. I can't wait until you're able to make all the changes you need from the sheet so you don't have to return to the builder once your character is built.
I think I had some other thoughts but that's all that's coming to me for right now. Thanks for all your hard work on this!
ETA: one quick thought on the mobile version: when you press the floating selection thingy (technical name) the options that come up feel like they're ordered backwards. I understand the ordering may be related to putting the most used items closest to your thumb, but this isn't really how most people's brains work imo. Because we read top to bottom, the most used menu items *feel* farthest away. This is a relatively simple fix that I bet would result in people feeling far less confused about where everything is located .
Same. I tried to scroll and then got mad and confused when I couldn't because new things are scary and the world might end. Then I took a deep breath and realized how much I love the new layout.
I just played around with it on my 12.9" iPad Pro. A few comments.I don't generally find it to be as bad as some people are saying, however, I do agree with some points:
AC should be on screens. I don't mind tabbing between the views when I am prepping for my turn while other players are acting, but if I get attacked it's nice to have the AC as a common item. That said, the AC isn't hard to remember. Also, I agree with a "list all" for spells.
I find the PDF export to be marginally better than before. There is more information available, but I would also like to see a sheet with all the spell effects.
I never said anyone was wrong - just different. We will never have consensus on something as complex as this, so the best we can do is base our decisions on the feedback we receive, focus group testing, and playtesting.
I really do appreciate the feedback, especially about tablet views. We will assess and adjust to hopefully get that closer to something that works for as many people as we can.
I noticed there's already been some fixes this morning! However where I noticed it was on the linked character sheet. It now displays the portrait image and has the gears beside the headers. I'm sure the actual sheet has gotten some love as well, I just haven't gotten to that yet.
I can definitely see how it’s better for laptop, but another thing I miss on mobile is the banner at the top with AC and HP on all screens. There’s not a lot of table space where I play so playing on the phone was ideal. Hoping some middle ground can be found,
I think it's great so far. No scrolling or searching for obscure character elements. Very much like having an actual character sheet in front of you, but with more ease of editing and less eraser debris.
I would have sworn that on the update yesterday that it was stated that Animal Companion sheets (and familiars) were added to the new character sheet. I for the life of me can not find anywhere to add my Beast Master animal companion. Am I just missing it?

Thank you to the team who made this happen. The new layout is great.
One request though: For the read only view, would it be possible to have a toggle for hiding your backstory? It's cool that campaign members can see my character sheet, but I'd like to keep my backstory private until it comes out during game-play.
While I see the appeal of having lower level spells show up in higher level spell slots, it makes it much harder to peruse the spells you have available at each level. "Okay, we're in a big fight! What big stuff do I have available? ... now I have to scroll through all my lower level spells that I could cast a higher level, rather than just looking at my actual high level spells." The spell level selector becomes useless.

Looks like the change is permanent, but they do actively listen to feedback.
I made a Wrist Dagger, people seem to like it.
