It might be a good idea to include all character options in the Character Builder, but "grey out" locked choices (so that people can clearly see they need to buy something). For every person who posts here saying something is "missing", there's bound to be more who just give up.
This would eliminate so many questions. EXCELLENT idea.

I would Like to say that I actually really enjoy the app, and find it very useful, although I do have some issues with it. Right now when the data is exported into the printable doc we see the features and traits field populated with useless information. Examples of this are "Tool Proficiency" or "Hit Points". These can be manually deleted, but it would be nice if they were not there to begin with. The next suggestion revolves around how features like Dwarven Resilience are added. Instead of just the title it would be nice if it populated what the feature actually does like "Dwarven Resilience - ADV on saving throws agains poison, and resistance to poison damage". I know that would take up a lot more space, but if the useless ones mentioned above were not added, there would be plenty of space.
This is a suggestion for the mobile version of the character page (and app version if there ever is one). While the mobile page looks pretty, I find it cumbersome having to to scroll several times then open drop downs to get to what I want. Maybe have an option of displaying the info on a standard character sheet that take up the full screen, and tapping the area you want pulls up that block in full screen (while tapping something specific brings up info on that) and hitting a back button takes you back to the full character sheet. This keeps all info only one or two taps away and is presented in a way that is easy for people who are used to the paper version to use. And if the user is on a tablet everything might even be readable without even needing to zoom. This would make it feel closer to the traditional paper version while still giving the same functionality you currently have.
As for bugs, cantrips learned through spell sniper do not show up anywhere on the PDF export (now that I look at it, spell sniper doesn't appear anywhere on the PDF export either, might be due to me using a human and getting the feat at level 1).

Yes, this is already in progress. The entire way choices are presented will be reworked to be a bit more useful than a typical dropdown.
Perhaps I may be missing something, but it appears that when a Master Subscriber is running a campaign, they cannot add any of their own characters to that campaign.
Speaking for myself, my table is contains 2 DMs and we often take turns running sessions within the same campaign so that we can both play. But since I'm the one officially "hosting" the campaign on D&D Beyond, right now I cannot add my PC into the pool. Also I'm sure that other DMs may have a major NPC ally that they may wish to share as a character.

Could we have this remedied?
You have to go to your "campaign link" from your campaign yourself to add yourself. The link you send to your players -- if you go to that yourself you also can add your character that way. I believe this has been mentioned as a thing that they are going to "fix" to make more intuitive (the ability for the DM to add a character).

Awesome thanks for the help! Definitely hope to see a more intuitive approach in the future, but at least it's working presently!
Hidden Character Skills/Abilities/Background/Notes
One of the really cool things about this interface is your ability to hide details from your "public" character sheet, and only show it to yourself & the DM. Could be handy to have an option to hide specific things from other players!
I just tried the character builder and noticed some annoying stuff:
I had the 4 wizard spell slots, but I could only learn two of the first level spells. The other two spells of my character I had to input manually in the spellbook afterwards.
There could be a way to select the Personal Characteristics instead of having to copy and past them. Rolling for them would be nice also.
There could an automatic selection feature for the starting equipment also. When selecting one of the "packs" like the explorer pack, the builder could insert each equipment in separate instead of just the pack. Also all items on the packs could be available to insert manually or inserted automatically in separate like the "knife" or "quill" and so on.

Did you buy the Player's Handbook from the marketplace? I don't have those issues with spells but I own the material.
Will the content from the Plane Shift documents be added? I see that the Elemental Evil book is already rolled in, and since (I assume) these fall under the same category I'm hoping to see them too?
Conversely, I'm glad that Unearthed Arcana is NOT included since the material there is not finalized whereas (I believe) the Plane Shift documents are final official content.
NOTE: You will need to setup a zendesk account (which is not your DnDBeyond.com account, the team uses this 3rd party software). It's easy to do and your votes are needed!
Currently the tool assumes that you're physically carrying everything you own, in a single container. The ability to differentiate between Backpack/Scroll Case/Belt Pouches/etc would be useful, and especially useful would be extra-dimensional spaces like Bags of Holding, Portable Holes, etc, since these impact Encumbrance differently.
I have the same problem noted by another poster that none of the custom attacks I've inputted transfer to the exported character sheet, including spells I've used the custom button to click that I want them to show as attacks. I expect this will get fixed in an upcoming update.
This may already be on the roadmap, but when selecting options it would be great to have a filter that shows only the free content and what I've purchased. Someone else mentioned the idea of grayed out content on the master list for things you haven't added to your options, but I think it'd be great to be able to be able to show everything you do have instead of having to select only one source (as in selecting races).

This. Sometimes, I'm looking for something I know exists, but don't have. Other days, I just want to look at what I've got with minimal fuss.
Oh.... Here's another idea: Campaign "rules". For Curse of Strahd, I pared down the options available to my players. While I didn't technically disallow anything, I put a bunch of stuff into a "ask first" bucket, which is pretty much the same thing, as far as a tool goes. I'm inclined to do the same thing for any other game I run, as well, to one extent or another. If nothing else, I loathe halflings and haven't used them since 1E.
This is especially important as new options are added via UA, Volo's, and XGtE. Just a way for a DM to run down the list of things and check what shows for players in their game.
Hmm... This probably belongs in the Campaign Management thread, but I'm sure The Powers That Be will see it, regardless.
I was thinking, could spells like Shillelagh add an attack to your attack area with all the correct information (same for spiritual weapon and any similar spell)?
You can achieve this yourself by creating a "Custom Attack" in the Attack section. Shillelagh is the example they used when they released the update that added this feature!
Cannot agree more. I can't see myself using the exported sheets until this is fixed.
Also, would it be possible to add checkboxes to the skills and abilities that have a cooldown, like Action Surge or Second Wind, to make tracking their use easier?
Or even multiple checkboxes for things like Battlemaster Maneuvers or other abilities that you can use multiple times in a rest?

I'm sure this is in there somewhere, but export sheet in color would be real nice.

How do you get a one-armed goblin out of a tree?
