Not sure if this is a bug for all races, but Aasimar don't seem to have a spells section even though they automatically get the light cantrip. It shows up once they learn a spell, but it doesn't show until then even though they should be able to cast just by being Aasimar.
On the topic of Aasimar, it would be nice if resistances and such were easily visible somewhere. Some races get resistance, and some abilities grant resistances, so at times it can just be nice to have the active resistances listed out somewhere. Perhaps on the hp page, where you manage hp by adding/subtracting, it can have resistances, vulnerabilities, immunities, etc. listed. Just something I think may be nice.
It shows under racial traits because not all Aasimar are spell casters. I believe that is the reasoning and this is not the Bly race that does this.
Probably been brought up before, but can we get the material components for spells to show up in the online character sheet? I was using Beyond on mobile and important things like how much find familiar costs in material components aren't there.

Yes we need this bad.
Yes, we need this badly. We do not need it to be bad.

Apologies if this has been raised before. Would be really useful to be able to add skill proficiencies outside the normal rules - our DM gave us a free skill prof but I can't add it.

For now, the workaround for this would be create an homebrew item which gives the character the proficiency you desire.
Could there be a way to customize items a bit more? I want to basically make a weapon type (say, galva-knuckles as a random example) without making a special magic weapon for it. Currently, I can override the To-Hit, add to the To-Hit, add to Damage, change the name, and add notes. It'd be nice if there was an "advanced" tab or something to change the die type/number, add properties like versatile, reach, etc., and have it apply to the attack screen.
Though the custom attack is all well and good, there just isn't a way to add properties or modify dice without making a homebrew. Just something that could be nice.

I'm confused, you want to make a homebrew item without having to make a homebrew item?
When you export the sheet you can edit the properties of any field I believe (at least for now) but within the system, you can't edit items on the fly (as far as I know)
Or is it that you just want to be able to make homebrew items without them being under the "magic item" section?

The most memorable stories always begin with failure.
I don't see all the feats or even all the spells that exist in the players handbook. Is there a reason spells like chromatic orb or almost all feats don't exist?

Yes, it's not meant to be a magic item. Basically I just went to my character sheet, equiped a longsword, clicked it on the attack page and clicked customize. Currently, the customization options are great and nice to have. It'd just be even better, imo, if I could add weapon properties, change dice, etc. I can't seem to make a simple, base item with the magic item homebrew creation without filling fields that don't apply.
So sorry for the confusion. Simply, I'm hoping to customize a weapon - in essence creating a homebrew item - without making a homebrew *magic* item.

Homebrew items are a path to many modifications that D&D Beyond cannot do naturally. For instance I've created Mage Armor and Bladesong as items my players can equip and unequip as needed.

Is it not possible to create a homebrew "magic" item without magical properties? As far as functionality goes, is there a difference between a modified weapon and a magic weapon with the same properties you want in the modified weapon?

I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this, or IF we can do this, also. In my case, I'd like to create a new non-magical weapon - a "broadspear". 2d6 piercing, heavy, reach, 2-handed. I'm not seeing how to do that - either modifying an existing weapon (a pike is close, but 1d10 damage) or building from scratch.

Nice one, thank you Filcat 👍

D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide or Monster Manual will need to be purchased from the Marketplace, or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
Thieves Tools don't show up in the tool proficiencies list.
