Any idea when the next pfd "patch" is coming up? People have mentioned changes will be in the next revamp. Is that next week/month/year? Any vague idea would be awesome!
I think the character sheet revamp is intended to be done sometime this year.
I like the intended part of this. If I actually shared dates, I would likely say that's our intent and our aggressive target, and that worst case would (theoretically) be Q1 of next year. If I actually shared dates.
As with all of life, things can change, but we're diving into actual development (and not just gathering feedback and conceptualizing) on this after Xanathar's release next week.
Orcpub2 is a was a much better character builder than this, when it was using all the resources.
Could you either allow them to use it all again, or buy it to use as the official character builder?
A better question for BadEye, since neither of those will likely ever happen; assuming that the DDB staff is passingly familiar with the Orcpub2 builder, has its design and flow, along with its relative popularity with those who used it, influenced your plans and designs for DDB's character builder?

I am more than passingly familiar with all the options for character creation out there - I was using all of those things long before D&D Beyond was even conceived.
As I have shared in the past, the major gap between what is available with DDB now and some of the other pre-existing tools is that we have been at this just less than a year, whereas most of those have been in development for a few years. Sure these were made by "someone in her free time," but two or three years of development is still a much larger timeframe.
We also had a team of only three (and in the later stages four) developers working on DDB through launch. With the success we have seen, we now have six, and we hope to add to that in the next year. I can't wait for everyone to see where we are by the end of year two.
None of this is offered as any kind of excuse - it's just the way that the reality of time works. So the question really isn't whether we will take the good things that the MPMB pdf, OrcPub, Fight Club, or anyone else is doing into consideration. We already have considered these things a great deal, as well as the thousands of posts of feedback here and elsewhere, to design what we've just been calling "the revamp."
The revamp will benefit from carefully-reviewed feedback, taking a look at what's working across the community, and - most importantly - extra time to make something that is the best. Make no mistake about it, the plan that we are executing will bring that about. It's not a matter of if but when.
As I hinted at above, the first major step of that starts in earnest immediately after Xanathar's release.
Any hints about the mobile app alpha release timeframe? :P
November 10th.
Not entirely correct on this one - we have stated that the mobile app early alpha access will be provided "when it's available," unlike the other pre-order bonuses.
However, I don't expect it to be too much later than that. We'll share the news as soon as we're able.
Not sure if this has been commented on yet, but the exported character sheet doesn't list out what the Racial Cantrip for High Elf is anywhere. On the export, it just gets listed under the Features on the first page as "Cantrip".
Also, while I don't think it's 100% necessary, the racial cantrip on the character sheet doesn't list out the "To Hit" or "Dmg" when applicable like other cantrips do under both the Spellcasting section as well as the Attacks section.
Sorry if this is something that has been commented on before. Didn't have the time to search through the 154 pages of this thread looking if it's been reported already lol.
Thank you. Glad hear that it's on the list.

So what if I already own a copy of the PHB and Scag. Can I just put the code in there or do I have to buy that all over again just to use the site.
Do we know if the mobile app release will be on both iOS and android? Or will it for starters be on only one of them?
