Just created a bard level 8 to reflect the character I am currently using - had to go lore as valor isn't SRD/BR.
Went all the way through and selected Counterspell and Fireball as the 6th level Magical Secrets, however when I get to the Character Sheet, they are listed as At Will spells rather than requiring spells slots. Whilst my bard would LOVE to have at will Fireball, that doesn't quite sound right :)
Sorry if someone reported this already but when selecting additional languages in the builder, options such as druidic and giant elk. Naybe druidic was intentional; despite being a secret language. However, I can't imagine giant elk was.
Thanks for the awesome and massive update! Very exciting!
Might have been mentioned already, but on the Proficiencies selection would be great if the drop down lists updated as you selected items so what you've already selected isn't listed. And someone already noted that in Rogue the Expertise shows everything when it should likely be limited to the Proficiency selections above.
More generally with character creation I like to select the Background before Proficiencies since so many background grant you some proficiencies already it would be good to know the Background ones first and then select the rest of the Proficiencies.
I don't know if any of this has been mentioned before, but these are the things I've had a look through the builder and found could be improved:
Loading animation for random name generator: Currently it pops up as a big square over much of my screen, I think it would be better to have a smaller loading thing next to the "Randomize name", or if you have a window that pops up and shows a few random names instead of just generating one or two at a time.
Uploading custom icons for characters: would like to see an upload button above the available icons (instead of scrolling to the bottom if you had planned on putting it there)
When selecting skills granted by our class, we can select the same skill more than once, not sure if this is intentional.
Allow us to select character traits in the description section of the character builder that show up in the appropriate section of the character sheet
Allow us to select starting equipment before going to the character sheet: It shows us the stuff that we can start with, but then doesn't allow us to choose between the options for base equipment and then we have to manually find each item and add it. This is a pain if you don't have one of the books nearby.
In the manage spells section allow us to click on a spell to show a brief description: At the moment it's just the name, school and level that's shown and so if you're unfamiliar with the spell you have to open a new tab and navigate to that spell's description in the reference part of the website.

Tai-Ruth is how you pronounce it, or just Tai for short :)
Ok so I cannot fully create a character yet, it just says loading on the race/class screens and never populates. There are six characters on my account but they are all unfinished due to the error I just mentioned. I get 404 errors when trying to view, edit or delete one of the six characters.
I have tried Chrome, Firefox and Edge, same errors.
When I most recently opened the page, the "My Characters" link under "My Content" loaded with someone else's character instead of the two I'd saved, but then I tried the same link under "Character" and it loaded with my own characters, after which both links loaded with my own characters.
I had a little trouble equipping a new item when I updated my cleric to 5th level. It added the Warhammer +1 to my list, but after I deleted my old mundane warhammer I had to exit the equipment manager and re-enter in order to equip either of my other weapons.
I picked dragon bloodline sorcerer class and it's not adding AC right. It should be 13+dex, it's only giving 10+dex. Also I can't select which color dragon i inherited. I wish volo's races were added, I play as aasimar and my brother yuan-ti
On the Choose a Race page of the Character Builder, the image used to represent the hill dwarf subrace is using the Deurgar (gray dwarf) image from the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.
For your consideration, there are images of (potentially hill) dwarves on pages 60 and 131 of that book; pages 13, 48, 56, of the Player's Handbook; and pages 35 and 198 of the Dungeon Master's Guide.
I recommend using the image from page 48 as a replacement for the current image.
That's actually a sun dwarf from the Forgotten Realms, which is a hill dwarf.
In the area on the character sheet where you pick your background, personality traits, flaws etc, would be nice if you could pick a Flaw, Triat or what ever off the list (like for "Urchin") and have it auto fill on the sheet without having to type your own in, or copy/paste.
That's the only thing I don't like about the creation system. Everything else is great.

There is currently no cap on the ability score improvements under the class section of the character creator. It doesn't remove the option to increase a score when it's bonuses puts it above 10. The ability score section also does no limit or cap the values to 20, like the rules state. It's a nice option if people are wanting to ignore that rule, but it seems like more of an oversight than a feature.
I can't get the +1 to AC from the Defense fighting style to work either. It's true for taking it at level 1 or at level 10. It seems that AC is only be based off of equipment or unarmored defense.
Oh wow, the random character generator needs some serious work, lol. For one thing, it should really prioritise stats, or at least stat minimums, in the primary or secondary ability scores. For another, multi-classing requires stat minimums and I just got a character with no stat above 12 and five classes.
I agree with this suggestion. make it like a shopping cart, further to that, I would also suggest creating parcels for the background/ class starting equipment. and drop down selections for that mode
The intent with Randomize is to do just that - make a completely random character.
We will actually build out the Quick Build option to allow for characters of any level over time - this will create the actually-optimized characters that are being discussed here.
I noticed that the Manage Hit Points feature doesn't seem to work. No matter what I input for Manual HP it doesn't change it seems the apply button only cancels back out
All of the characters I create have proficiency in Animal Handling in addition to the skills I actually select.
When I equip Cloak of Protection, it adds the plus to the saving throws twice.

How to add Tooltips
The character generator looks great and is very user friendly. My only note is that I was unable to access Backgrounds during Step By Step Generation.
How about the ability to link a character so it would be like:
Marav(Druid/Ranger) -Storm Kings ThunderDontontion(Rogue/Warlock) - Storm Kings Thunder
DM - Stormpoint Mountains :: A Critical Role Adventure ( Map of Trunau )

Are only certain archetypes available for each class? There is only champion for fighter and circle of the land for druid for example.

Feature Request: Please add text in big bold red letters on each page of the character builder that the beta phase only has SRD content

Having the same issue.
