I agree, maybe a Global Search Preferences option in my user setup that allows me to exclude forums from global search.
I also just noticed the buttons at the top of the search form were toggle buttons. Didn't click initially. Maybe you could make them more distinctive when toggling and have them save states between searches?
There definitely needs to be some prioritisation in the search results. It would be nice if it was broken down into sections based on relevance, like if a spell is one of the results, that comes up first since it's most likely the person is searching for the spell and not every mention of the spell in all monster entries and forum discussions.
In fact, I think you could safely get rid of forum search results entirely given that the function already exists separately as part of the forum itself.

This may have been answered, but why is there the bar at the top AND a huge, ugly search bar on the home page?

Hey so I noticed two things searching Bugbear on the Global Search.
First result was a Bugbear Races page that went to a 403 (which was awesome by the way, loved the little extras being put into this)
Second was with the Top Result from the forums: Today's Monster of the Day!... The sidebar that shows a snippet of the Top Result is not formatting properly with symbols in the body. This is what is shown: Today’s monster is the Bugbear (bold italics I added for effect)

I have a related question: Since going forward there will be digital and physical options available for all rules sets, does WotC have any plans to include a one time use code, or something similar, with their physical products so that players can get access to both with one purchase at their local gaming store, much the way physical copies of PC games come with Steam registration codes?

Just because you arbitrarily assign some sort of significance to the bodies of your dead doesn't make me not hungry.

It's a question that's been asked and debated on a number of threads on these forums.
The short answer seems to be no.
Whilst the content is largely similar, they are very much different products. The better example is more like buying a DVD from your local store and expecting there to be a coupon inside that allows you to watch the director's cut on Netflix for free.

Also in the end the only people with that answer will be WotC. But I think you'll get the 'no answer is the best answer' treatment.
PLEASE separate the forum search. The last thing I need at the table is useful search results lost in forum spam.

Hey so I noticed two things searching Bugbear on the Global Search.
Here's the link for what I searched: https://www.dndbeyond.com/search?q=Bugbear&f=forums&c=forums
When I searched for "bugbear", this showed up twice in a row:
"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both" -- allegedly Benjamin Franklin

When I searched for hobgoblins, I got goblin, creature size, and services in the search, not to mention some PbP forum spam. Fix please?
Just an average metalhead who plays DnD in his spare time.
PbP Character: Roberta Thalan, Void Beyond the Stars Otherside
PbP Character: Primus Eidolon, Eotha 2
PbP Character: Usmor Illiqai, Tomb of Corrosion
PbP Character: "Templar" Danver, You're the Villains
Homebrew stuff

The search will very likely learn over time. The more users searching, the faster it will learn.
The issue wasn't with the resulting page, it was with the snippet on the right side of the results called Top Result. http://imgur.com/a/9BsUx
Is the end product gonna be free
