Kalamin's dagger catches the elf between the shoulder blades as he runs away, fleeing down the hill into a knot of fighting.
The third combatant near Glyptemis also tosses his crossbow to the ground, but instead of drawing a sword pulls out what looks like a smooth stone. They seem to focus their attention elsewhere for a moment.
Leftenant, Glyptemis, Lyra, and Juno in initiative.
Leftenant considers firing an arrow at the fleeing elf but decides that it matters little to assist the group of escapees, especially when Glyptemis is in the thick of things. He wonders what has drawn their assailants’ attention away but takes aim at the one who most recently dropped his hand crossbow (the one with the smooth stone now). After the shot, Leftenant moves to where the recently dead elf fell (if possible, but maintains some distance from the camouflaged opponents).
“Let’s not be too long here.” he says to the escapees. “We aren’t geared for an extended skirmish with either of these factions.”

Humming the notes of Lyra's harmonica song to himself in a very brief moment of focus, Glyptemis then comes bursting out of the Shield as it dissipates and he swings with a blade of shadow and fire, slicing at the most injured looking assailant with Green Flame Blade, exploding again onto the closest other fighter. He spins smoothly around coming out of the slash, facing the group of attackers and preparing for them to strike back.
(Move) None (Action) Green Flame Blade with Shadow Blade: 13+2(bless)+4(bardic)=19 to hit, for 10 psychic damage and 4 fire damage to nearby combatant (Bonus) None
Lyra considers as the red and white elf dashes away. On one hand, she does not wish the rest of the elves to be notified of the prison break just yet, and the elf who fled had already been damaged by Kalamin's dagger and side-swiped by Glyptemis' fire earlier. Might be worth finishing off so they can't spread the word. On the other hand, her companions were in the midst of a battle right in front of her with other assailants.
IF she thinks she can target the fleeing red and white elf without the others noticing, she does so. Otherwise, her ray of dark energy targets the unknown assailant attempting to use the smooth stone in their hands. (If the latter she trots to angle herself so she pushes them towards or into the chasm).
Seeing the tortle take advantage of her musical inspiration, Lyra smiles and considers playing another riff on her harmonica to inspire him again, but she feels she may only have a little music left in her and who knows what else this mad situation might bring, so she conserves her energy and holds off.
Instead she offers her voice, unlaced with magic from her harmonica, murmuring loud enough for her companions to hear, but not the elves. Singing a melancholy, yet heartfelt ballad she had once heard sung by a far traveler from a different world.
"Through these fields of destruction. Baptisms of fire. I've witnessed your suffering, as the battle raged high. And though they did hurt you so, in the fear and alarm, You did not desert me, my brothers in arms."
Movement: IF Lyra thinks she can target the fleeing red and white elf without alerting the other elves, she moves behind cover of the rocks with Juno. Otherwise, she moves 30' southwest so that her Repelling Blast will push the assailant with the stone towards the chasm.
Action: Lyra casts Eldritch Blast on either the fleeing red and white elf or the assailant with the stone, choosing as described above. Eldritch Blast plus Bless to hit: 18 + 3 = 21 Eldritch Blast damage: 6 force Repelling Blast - Forced Movement (ONLY if the target is the assailant with the stone): pushed 10' East/Southeast.
Bonus Action: (None). Lyra considers handing out her last Bardic Inspiration, but holds off in case there is a more specific need later.
"Welcome to behind the rocks. Nice to meet you. Oh, just a moment...." She says before poking up just enough to see the fracas on the other hill. Kal, Leftenant, and Glyp are pretty solid. Still, a bit of covering fire couldn't go wrong.
"I channel the eternal fire through me now, My Lady. Guide my hand to strike down our assailants!" She says while tracing the symbol of a flaming circle in the air. From that circle erupts three crackling beams of concentrated flame!
Action: Cast Scorching Ray. She will target 2 of the most injured facing down our group on that hill. 2 beams to one. One beam to the other
Target 1 To hit: 8 and 18 (Assuming the 8 misses for sure) Damage: 10 points of fire damage
Target 2 To hit: 16 Damage: 8
Juno will then slink back down behind cover. "Can't say I've woken up to much worse than this all at once."
As two of the combatants are distracted by Leftenant's arrow slicing between them, the bladesinger breaks from his shield and slashes through one of them. A flare of green flame splashes off the blade onto the other. A crack splits the air, and Lyra's blast of dark energy impacts the chest of the one holding onto a small stone, sending him reeling backwards towards the chasm. Fwoom. Fwoom. Fwoom. A trio of scorching rays fly out next, finding the two men still in melee range with Glyptemis.
Though gravely injured at this point, both raise their shortswords in response. The first tries to break through the tortle's defenses, while the second turns on the newcomer: Kalamin.
Kal winces as the sword bites into his flesh, losing his grip on the magic that would empower his strikes. He retaliates with a vicious uppercut slash with the dagger.
Already near the edge from his other wounds, the man is too slow to react to Kalamin's counter. The dagger catches him just above the collarbone, slicing up through his neck and he falls. The third slips the stone back into his cloak somewhere, drawing his own shortsword and returning to melee with Glyptemis and Kalamin. He doesn't attack either, instead holding his blade in front of him in a defensive posture.
OoC: He has taken the dodge. All attacks against him have disadvantage, and he'll have advantage on Dex Saving Throws.

Curiosity has grabbed a hold of Leftenant as the masked assailant has hidden the smooth stone he earlier brought out. “What could it be or what does it mean?” He thinks to himself.
He draws another arrow and aims for the assailant, hoping for the best.
He then gives a quick once over of the slain elf he had moved to, once again not a full search, but to see if obvious ammunition is available. He grabs what he can.

A furrow crosses Lyra's brow as she observes the assailant with the stone taking the dodge action.
"A delaying tactic," she thinks aloud to her companions. "He cannot hope to win the fight by continuing to dodge. Is he expecting the cavalry to arrive and save his skin? I wonder if he was summoning them with that stone of his. Perhaps from the mountains. Be on guard, friends!"
She turns to the assailants. "Before we slay each other, may we have the honor of knowing who it is we are fighting to the death, and why?"
Lyra targets the other surviving assailant with her dark beam of energy. The one not taking the dodge action.
Movement: None. She is wary of getting too close to the cliff in case further assailants appear atop it to attack from above.
Action: Eldritch Blast at the remaining surviving assailant without the stone. Eldritch Blast plus Bless to hit: 20 (dirty) + 2 = 22 Eldritch Blast damage: 5 force (minimum) Repelling Blast - Forced Movement: none this time - Lyra does not push the target. She wishes them to stay in melee with Glyptemis and Kalamin.
Bonus Action and Free Action: None except speaking.

There are more than a few magic items that take the form of a stone. You don't know for certain without inspecting it closely, but it could have been a Sending Stone.
Kalamin will bend over to pick up one of the shortswords from the fallen combatants, turning to look back north towards the rest of the fight. He looks for gaps where the fighting isn't as severe, or if there's any areas they could move to that aren't swarmed with other people at the moment. "I don't think we have long, that elf probably went for help." He calls out to the others, moving to rejoin them.
If he has time, he'll relay whatever details of the battle he can see.

"Hmm if there's more trouble on the way, maybe we should beat feet. I think we're underprepared to tackle a lot more, capable though we are....Ah here let me help you out" She says as Kal runs over to them.
"Fire destroys, but also nourishes life. My Lady of Eternal Flame, let the purifying warm of your fire heal my comrade" She traces her fingers in the air a moment before laying her palm over the worst of Kal's wounds. A delightful warmth passes from her hand into Kal, mending his wounds. "I hope this helps prepare us for whatever may come next."
You can see that the fight is more or less ending. The pale elves which seem to be your captors have gained the upperhand against these camouflaged assailants, and now outnumber them on the field. There's still at thick bit of fighting to your north, which the elf you'd fought is working his way through. The red-clad spellcaster stands at the far-north, peering into the wooded hills to her east, where the crossbolt fire has ceased.
The fighting hasn't made it up against the cliff face yet, so the area to your west is relatively open. There's also no cover to hide behind that way save for a boulder that's around 120 feet northwest
The battle continues to rage, and the elves drop more and more of the ambushers. You can see that this fight is going to be over soon - currently no one is approaching or looking in your direction.
OoC: Top of initiative again, no NPCs to interrupt your order.
With a small lull in the battle, Leftenant gives a more thorough search of the elf body at his feet. He doubts he will find any pertinent information that might explain why he (and the others) were taken, but he has nothing else to go on. Perhaps something might jar a memory of being taken, or recall information about who these strange elves might be (or what they might serve).
Afterwards, he will survey the best route away from the fighting. Observing their prison wagon back wide open, he suddenly feels dumb. “Such a stupid move to leave so blatant a sign of their escape.” He thinks to himself. Not that it would grant them much more of a head start, but still. They must be more careful in the future.
LT returns to the others as they regroup. “Want to trade blades?” He asks Kal. “I’ve found my weapon of choice, and seeing you fight makes me think a more martial blade fits you better.”
Addressing the group, “I’ve no real idea where we are, or which way home is. And I don’t really know any of you, or why we were in that wagon together. What I currently know is that it is because of you all that I stand here now, free again. Thank you.”
“We should stick together, at least until we are away from those that detained us…or until we discern why they are interested in us.”
