One head took a bite out of her side, while the other pierced her arm. Namura gritted her teeth, trying to keep herself from crying out in pain again. "Make your retreat if you have to, I can hold it off," she called back to Lero, before launching herself back at the beast.
Her first strike seemed to find a particularly weak point in the creature's armor, the ranger's sword sinking in to the hilt before she removed it. Namura's second sword cleaved one of the heads right off, much to her surprise. Her final offhand strike harmlesy bounced off of the hydra's hide, so she stood before the Hydra. "They don't like fire!" She called back to her teammates as loud as she could.
((OOC: 2 critical hits, 28 damage on the first and 20 on the second.))
The creature lunges itself in the middle of Lero, Namura and Kraithee and its maws are merciless, dealing a lot of damage to Kraithee.
Lero, Namura, I cannot stay here... I am sorry...
Kraithee said that with a bit of aether dropping from his body to the ground, a clear sign that it is hurt pretty bad. Connecting once more with the Aether and the Conduit, Kraithee collapses in a aether cloud and floats 25ft east from its position, reappearing in the middle of both groups of fighting. Having used its conection to the Conduit it had aether left to throw a new barrage of rays of burning aether at the left creature, hitting it twice and missing it once (22, 23 and 10), the rays burn the creature torso making it feel a good amount of pain (5, 9 fire damage)
"What the..." The thing had two heads coming out where it had one. "Don't hit the heads, go for the body!"
Lizzy swoops in but totally misses with beak and claws. Buama aims carefully at the body of the beast and hits right where she aimed for (rolled 20+6=26). The gun seemed to hit more satisfyingly this time. (total damage with crit - 32) She screeches in frustration because one of the heads dies anyway and she is hoping more don't grow out of it. At least it was still hanging there and not gone like the one she had exploded.
She steps back to the southwest to add more distance, but still have visibility.
(Meta: two squares on the SW diagonal from where she was on the last map)
Duncan looked at the beast but heard Buama’s warning. He looked too the beast and saw all the heads slashing about. Something must be done about that. With every ounce of his will, Duncan tried to create something that could cage the necks. Instead the result was a semi circle that was in front of the hydra. Yet it could still reach over, a saving grace was that the wall was floating in the air leaving some room for the others to attack it’s body.

The hydra's screamed, the one on the right launching it's heads against all of the foes surrounding it. The assault on Duncan proved to be too much, as his concentration failed to maintain control of the wall. The dead head seemed to molt away, and is soon replaced by two new heads.
The left hydra, having only one opponent, stared down Namura, raising its heads to strike her down, as the heads descended on Namura, a massive boulder, easily weighing over 500 lbs., sails through the air, coming from the south, smashed into the side of the hydra, knocking it to the ground and causing most of the heads to miss their mark on Namura. It stands, and hisses at some hulking figure that is just beyond clarity with Namura's sight.

Seeing Flux creation fall, Duncan and Quill really hurt and Kraithee itself in a lot of pain, it knows they need to take this creatures down quickly. And Namura, she needs to get out of there and quickly!
Pointing its hands toward both creatures Kraithee concentrates all its aether to create as many rays of burning energy as it could, the creatures need to die soon, and that roar coming behind them, a new foe?
Namura! You need to come closer to us! That thing will try to eat you with all it has!
Kraithee finishes saying that and starts his casting, burning all his energy to try and destroy those creatures.
(Action: Cast Scorching Ray at the right creature as a 3rd level spell hitting it three times dealing 22 fire damage and spending 2 sorcery points to cast another one at the creature on the left hitting it twice for 11 points of fire damage).
Well, this was just downright ugly. What in aether were these thing? Lizzy had an opportunity to attack while the beast moved and managed to add more damage with both beak and claws. (12 damage)
Buama hating try to shoot almost point blank at anything does a defensive move backwards. She only glanced at the beast on the left noting it was knocked down by a HUGE boulder. So something really large was south of her somewhere, but trees were in the way. Besides she had no time to waste looking for it as she back pedaled fifteen feet along the trees to her right making sure she stayed close enough to it for some protection, but not block her view.
At the same time she had Lizzy fly in from behind to now hit the eight headed monstrosity. It had to be hurting even if new heads popped out. Lizzy's attempt to attack after following it missed completely.
Buama aimed her gun and hit it in the body again with what looked like a decent amount of damage. (20 damage) "DIE ALREADY!"

Lero hears a scream of pain coming from Namura just as the hydra on the right charges him. It's almost as if they're out for his blood!
Glancing in Namura's direction he sees her barely able to stand and his mind races thinking about how he can get this situation under control. He pulls an aether dose from his belt and slots it into his infuser. His eyes begin to glow as the aether races through his system. Fueled by this surge of artificial adrenaline, he charges atop the beast in front of him and thrusts down with his rapier with all his might. The hydra's spine must have severed from the impact of his blade, as it immediately goes limp.
With the aether leaving his system, he races over to Namura and calls out, "We've got this! Go take care of yourself!"
Namura had been certain that she was done for when the Hydra focused all of its might on her. Yet somehow, she found herself still standing. She was barely up, but she could still fight. The boulder from some invisible source of aid fueled her forward. If she was not alone against this beast, then perhaps she had a fighting chance
Blood pumping in her ears, Namura couldn't hear Lero. She knew it would be more intelligent to heal herself, but she could taste victory. She wanted to kill this creature, before it hurt her. She slashed three times, but only one was able to pierce the hydra's hide. Still, she was able to separate yet another head from its body.
Hearing Namura cry out in pain, and shortly afterwards seeing Lero fell the beast before him, Quill elected to try to help the ranger. I can't do much in this form, but I can still curse it, he thought as he flew 50 feet west, towards the second hydra. Quill could barely see the top of the beast's heads, but it was enough. Dark power of the night, aid me in battle, and bring this wretched creature to its knees!
[OOC: Movement: 50 feet west (above the hydra, 35 feet above the ground). BA: Hexblade's Curse on the hydra. Action: Dodge.]
Duncan was still in the fight. His psionic powers some how reenergized him. With nothing left to lose he quickly pulled out his sword. Bloody and beaten he looked at the beast trying hard not to fall over from exhaustion. With sword in hand he focused all his psionic energy into the blade. With white energy seeping from his eyes the blade began to glow a translucent light emanating from the blade. With a shout he charged towards the beast. As he lifted the blade high, Duncan felt a sharp pain but feeling the presence of his comrades pushed through the pain, bring the blade to bare against the hydra. Yet still the concentration was lacking and at the last second the psionic enegry seemed to dim. Leaving only a scratch on the beast.
As the party turns their attention to the final hydra, an immense creature, seeming to be made from the very forest itself, charges into view, concealed by the fog to everyone but Namura, Quill, Duncan, and Lero. The ground shakes, a sensation felt by all, as the being's footsteps leave large marks on the ground. You hear the sound of wood snapping, as the being tears a tree from the ground. Raising both of its arms high into the sky, it brings the tree down on the hydra, which lets out a last scream of rage before the sound of bones crunching from an immense force echo through the party's ears. The hydra collapses, bleeding from multiple orifices, and lays lifeless on the ground. The giant lets out another roar, aimlessly tossing the tree to its right side, which nearly hits Buama and Kraithee as they see a large tree suddenly emerge from the thick fog, before continuing to pummel on the hydra's lifeless corpse with its fists.
While a savior, Namura gets the impression that it is not exactly a friend, and Quill is quick to sense that it's rage is quickly growing as it continues to beat on the hydra's corpse, as if it was whipping itself into a self-prescribed frenzy.
Buama sighs with relief as the beast she has been shootin finally dies. She has Lizzy start flying to her side. A tree suddenly lands close to her and Kaithree making her screech in shock. She swings around trying to see anything in the fog, but all she hears now is some behemoth beating on what had to be the body of the other too-many-headed beast. She stays rooted where she is as Lizzy finds a spot to land close to her.

Quill flapped his wings and landed about 15 feet from where the corpse of the hydra lay. He observed the beast being pummelled by the strange elemental, returning to his normal state in a second flash of light as he did so. Sensing its overwhelming rage, Quill shouted into the fog, "It's enraging itself! Take what time you can to regroup and prepare for another round of combat!" Quill grimaced as he stood up, feeling less pain than before, but still not in top condition. Nonetheless, Quill raised his hand, preparing to fire spells at the new foe that stood before him.

Walking over the Hydra body, Kraithee stands next to Duncan and laying its ring hand on him, lets loose some of Namura's energy to give more fighting chance to Duncan. (Ring of Spell Storing cast Cure Wounds on Duncan curing 7 hp)
Taking a deep breath, Namura placed a hand on her chest and cast Cure Wounds on herself. The healing energy warmed her, but did very little to close her numerous injuries.
"We shouldn't fight him," the ranger said in response to Quill. "We have taken a beating, and he is just trying to protect his forest. Sneak away as best as you can, I'll provide a distraction." As she spoke, Namura cast Pass Without a Trace on the rest of the party, hopefully aiding in their escape.
Namura stepped around Lero, moving slowly closer to the creature. She doubted it was a beast, but she wanted to try and talk to it anyway. "Thank you for aiding us, friend," the elf said in soft tones, not in a language any of her party members could understand. "We didn't mean to injure your forest."
Duncan rose with renewed energy. "Thank you Kraithee. I don't think I have much more in me." He looked over at the elemental. Put his hand to his eyes and then pulling it down on his face, "This just is not my day." He held his sword out in front of him. "What should we do?" He really hoped one of his comrades knew what to do because at this point Duncan had no idea how to handle an elemental.

If the creature could understand Namura, it certainly didn't show it, as it continues to beat the hydra's corpse senselessly. After a few more seconds, it stops, grabbing the corpse and dragging it towards the lake. A streak of blood, mingled with green aether, follows the corpse and creature. Arriving at the edge of the lake, it roars, before tossing the hydra's body into the water. Seeming to have just noticed the docks, it roars again, pounding its "fists" onto the ground and proceeding to destroy the docks, boats, and everything artificial.
