Bane speak to the Necromancer with bare teeth "Who are you by the way? I am not one of your minion but I am trying to figured out where I am, do you know this place?"
While on the roof, may I see more like, all this "lots of people" are moving or settled in a specific place? Are there any relevant buildings to note? It seems to be daily hours or whatever?
Grishkar goes about tracing summoning runes on the ground as Bame addresses him, "You are not a minion, but I serve He that makes all His slaves. If you are so curious about where we are, then keep watch while I find something with wings. I've gathered bits of information, but not enough to feel comfortable. If you don't want to be a watchdog, wake up that elf and see if it's a friend or fodder."
(I'm assuming that a 1 hour ritual has it periods of total and minor concentration, so I'll share the knowledge I've picked up in exchange for security.)

Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Szalki finds a tavern, goes in, and is greeted by the elderly dwarf bartender; "you're new here, aren't you?"
Bane sees that it's the middle of the busiest section of the city; all these people are moving, but there are always more to take their place. At the edge of your vision is a tall, shiny building. There are also several brick/stone towers scattered around the city; there seems to be a higher concentration of them near the shiny building.
After a 1-hour ritual, Grishkar gets a raven familiar.
With my hood still pulled up I take a seat at the bar, nod in response to the bartender and try strike up a conversation to try find out more about this place, who is in charge, and if he is seeming comfortable with me try find out why everyone seems to be acting "weirdly"
Grishkar sends his raven airborne, but close enough to keep a telepathic link (100'). The raven purches on the tallets nearby building and allows the necromancer a glimpse of the city. The towers and shining building seemed to be the most distinctive landmarks aside from areas of especially heavy crowding. Such vibrant life in the city filled Grishkar with a black malice. Nerull would never allow a servant to leave such a place unmolested by death. Several smaller buildings seemed to be taverns anf inns. Grishkar decided to take the most barren of patrons as a temporary haven to begin plotting.
(Let's just go with thr currently mentioned tavern so we don't develop wildly diverging plots too early.)

The necromancer's gaunt head twists and glares at Bane from within a black hood, "I am branded Grishkar by my Lord Nerull, God of Death and Scourge of Life. I do not know how I came here, only that I was in combat with a worthless peon of some misbegotten deity. As I was about to strike her down, there was a loud crash, then I awoke here."
The raven swoops down to land on Grishkar's shoulder before they head inside, "Come with me if you like. I have a feeling our paths are mutually beneficial."

Once the essentials were relayed, he spun on a heel, scale coat jingling lightly, and strode off with the raven close above, "Come along, The Reaper's work never ceases."

"Same here, I was ready to hit from the darkness and...some sort of spell I think, hit me, and then, here...without any memory of how I been left on this ground.."
"Anyway, God of Death uh?'" ask the monk with a pleased smile "Indeed...I agree with you Grishkar, you can call me Bane, I don't have a God but hunt my offering"
As Szalki sees these familiar faces he approaches them. "Grishkar, is it? You are a curious fellow, only once before have I ment a creature who seeks divine favor yet also dabbles in the arcane arts. What brought you down this path?"
I serve My Lord Nerull as a vessel of his wrath. I came against a servant of his enemy, but found myself flung here before I could perform The Reaper's work. This place crawls with life and does not seem to know the Hater of Life. It is my duty to bring His will.
Glancing at the assembled company, Grishkar motions to the most secluded corner possible to talk further, "We were sent here for a reason. Who are we? What is Here?"

I head over to the secluded corner. "I have no idea how we got here or even where he is, something to me doesn't feel right to me. I wasn't able to detect any out of the ordinary magic back in the ally, and the bartender wasn't able to tell me anything useful about the place. I'm going to see if I can sense any magical presence around here to see if we could be in any danger or if it can help us find out more." I use another Arcane Sense charge to detect for magic or spell casters in the area.
Grishkar and the elf register as clerics, two steps weaker than you; as does one of the tavern patrons, a human male, seemingly unremarkable; Grishkar also registers as a wizard, one step weaker than you.

The Raven is still perched atop Grishkar's shoulder during the scrying. Upon hearing of another cleric nearby, Grishkar tries supresses a sudden frenzy. Fevered zealotry fills his eyes as he demands the location and at seeing the holy man, he orders The Raven to begin hopping along the rafters above the other cleric, "If you all side with Nerull, The Reaper, Hater of Life, then join me and we will rise above all life."
Grishkar moves under The Raven through the room, stopping at the cleric's table, "Name your patron! I am Grishkar, sent to do my Lord's bidding."
