Rubin glances to the water warily. He was not a water person, the swim into the keep was one of the few times he had ever swam in his entire life. He sighs as it becomes obvious they are doing this though.
"I can help scout, but not sure how useful that will be." he says with a shrug. "What am I suppose to be looking for? things in the water? Well those things will have me for dinner well before I will notice them, as I am fairly useless in water."
"Swimming? But you're a natural! And you did so much better than me earlier. Anyways, just keep an eye out, and get the jump on anything that tries to attack. Since I'm going to be paddling so I'm going to be at the front of the big boat of light as a target to draw them away so you better take good care of us, alright?"
(OOC: So just to make things scotch...scotch tape clear, Kethra is trying to accommodate Rubin's complaint to have more time in the spotlight err, have a chance to shine I mean, have his moment in the darkness. ^^)
(Kethra has no reason to believe there are things hidden in the water. But she is expecting guards. Underwater or not, what hopefully the torchlight will likely get the attention of any guards down here, letting Rubin and Davian get the jump on whatever.)

Kethra organizes the group, and Rubin and Davian both prepare to swim ahead. The rest get into the boat, and start rowing towards the inky blackness.
Rolling Jairus's usual perception check: 13
(Anyone else who would like to roll can do so. If you don't have darkvision it'll be at disadvantage (Jairus's should have been but it doesn't matter anyways).)

"Remember to keep marking the cave, Mr...uh, Mr. Baker." Kethra rows from the front of the boat, her hood up. Not only is she at the best place to put the most power to rowing a boat, but she is also giving half cover to her friends behind her.

(Rolling for Davian: 26)
The two forward scouts are the only ones who have any sort of warning, as 6 decaying corpses suddenly surface from beneath the water. Four dart past Rubin and Davian towards the boat, while the other two close with them (you can make opportunity attacks if you choose).

Is the boat the only 'land' area around then? I.E. is this just a river through stone walls or is there a place he can climb out of the water? In other words was this completely foolish of Rubin, since he can do pretty much nothing against the corpses, as he is horrible in melee fighting. Also, how does the ghoul spot an invisible Rubin?
(Good point, Rubin wouldn't be spotted. There is no land around you other than the boat. Also, you could use your crossbows since you have Crossbow Expert.)

(ooc: I think crossbows are one of the few weapons that work in water with no penalties (sort of like a harpoon gun) but not sure what prolonged exposure will do to it.)

Tyde will cast Thunderwave to try and catch as many of the ghouls and as few of his allies as he can, using Sculpt Spells to protect up to 2 of his allies if needed.
CON save vs. DC 13 or take 9 thunder damage and a BOOM can be heard out to 300 feet. (hoping the underground tunnel will mute this to some degree from those above in the keep?)

Rubin will strike at one of the ghouls as it passes, with his little dagger...
Attack: 11 Damage: 5
He will then strike at another as it closes on him...
Attack: 8 Damage: 4
Rubin will be invisible as this is darkness, so those using darkvision cannot see him. Attacks against him will have disadvantage.
(Good point, Rubin wouldn't be spotted. There is no land around you other than the boat. Also, you could use your crossbows since you have Crossbow Expert.)

Does a crossbow work in water? I was thinking it would not, but will definitely use it if it does.
(ooc: I think crossbows are one of the few weapons that work in water with no penalties (sort of like a harpoon gun) but not sure what prolonged exposure will do to it.)
(Totally! You have no reason to use a knife at all. Sorry, I had expected you to know, I suppose that explains why I made you a little nervous lol. Here's a link: http://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules/combat#UnderwaterCombat)
Well both of those were still misses, using the crossbow or not. So let's call Rubin's turn done and he'll use his hand crossbow next round.
(The second hits, with a crossbow or not. Up to you which you use.)

Rubin manages to hit a hit on one of them.
The other two ghouls also move past Rubin and Davian, and all 6 suddenly surge under the boat and attempt to capsize it!
(Three make the check, three help.)
Check: 17
Check: 6
Check: 15
None of them manage to heave the boat over, however.
