"Better if Marav and Angel can use their mobility ta draw them in piecemeal. If we charge ta their rescue we give up that advantage."
"What advantage? Neither of us are hiding - might as well move the battlefield towards Angel and maybe get that cockatrice off its back. That giant may step on a stone Angel if all goes wrong. Marav is on his own for now - he's over that hillock about a half mile or more away. We can only hope he keeps out of that troll's maw."
With conviction, Ink says, "Guard the ring - I'm going after that cockatrice. Then Angel and I will both bring fire beard closer to you."
Ink moves towards Angel, but stays in his line, i.e., parallel line to Angel and the cockatrice NOT straight at them.

There's 15-foot-wide stream 60 feet behind you, which counts as rough terrain, and could give you a small reprieve from the troll's attacks if you're able to get away from him. Good though with the fire though; also, the damage for that cantrip is just a straight 2d8 (since you've reached 5th level) //
