New Castle Ravenloft Maps

Castle Ravenloft is home to the adventure's titular Count Strahd von Zarovich, and is a familiar location to anyone who has played Curse of Strahd. Originally it was depicted in the book in a distinctive isometric style and was as much a work of art as it was an invaluable adventuring tool. However, as gorgeous as it is, the isometric style of the map does not lend itself well to the typical virtual tabletop.

All that has changed with Maps on D&D Beyond. If you own Curse of Strahd on D&D Beyond, you'll find maps for all of the adventure's other locations, as well as a whole new selection of maps for Castle Ravenloft—optimized for use with our Maps tool!

Seven new maps have been made exclusively for D&D Beyond’s Maps tool in both player and Dungeon Master versions, covering all the major areas of Castle Ravenloft:

  • Walls of Ravenloft
  • Main Floor
  • Court of the Count
  • Rooms of Weeping
  • Spires of Ravenloft
  • Larders of Ill Omen
  • Dungeons and Catacombs

Each map has been rendered in detail, including the scaled layout and key features.

The Dungeon Master versions of these maps also include labels of the key areas of each location, as well as any secret doors or traps that you won’t see on the player version. Keep those secrets secret!

Use These Maps in Your Game Today

You can find these maps by navigating to the Map Browser and selecting the "Curse of Strahd"  option under the "Adventures" dropdown. From there, scroll down to the "Chapter 4: Castle Ravenloft" subsection, where you’ll find DM and player versions of all the maps needed for running an adventure in D&D's most iconic gothic castle.

Clicking the "+" icon next to each map will add it to your current campaign, and from there, you can use it in your games. You can use the Fog of War tool to conceal the map from your players and then reveal things as they explore. You can also use the token menu to add some of the castle's terrifying occupants for your party to encounter in the dark corridors of Castle Ravenloft.

Maps is currently in Alpha, so there may be some bugs and glitches as we develop it with the help of your feedback.

These maps are perfect for running your adventures in Barovia. For one-shot ideas, check out James Haeck’s homebrew adventures Strahd Must Die Tonight!, Strahd Must Die Again, and Strahd Must Die…IN SPACE! this Halloween, all of which you can find for free on D&D Beyond.
