Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Way of the Goth is a strange one, for certain. Most monasteries try to bring those born with dreadful ki into a state of balance, but most of the time, they end up being tricky pupils who steal abyssal, necrotic, and eldritch tomes for their own gain, believing that they will become a renowned villain. When it is revealed that they're actually destined for the greater good, it's jarring, but most legends are born misunderstood, so eventually, they get the hang of it, joining an adventuring party to take over the world... in the most peaceful way possible.
(Inspired by Cody Walsh and Karen Tanaka from Dimension 20.)

Tragic Backstory

At 3rd level, you manifest your wisdom as pure angst- or so you think, it's just boring exposition. You may spend 2 Ki points to cast Sleep, and can upcast it by spending another Ki point. If it succeeds, the DM must tell you an insecurity that the target has, as you breaking their psyche down into character tropes gives a weird form of insight.

Deflective Personality

At 6th level, when you take damage from an attack or spell, as a reaction, you may deal two rolls of your Martial Arts dice in psychic damage to the attacker, as you roll your eyes, muttering, "Whatever..."
You may do this a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier.

Familiar Fit For a Lord

At 11th level, when you or an ally reduce a Monstrosity, Aberration, Plant, or Dragon to zero hit points but not kill it outright, you may spend 10 Ki points to make it roll a Charisma saving throw against your Ki DC. On a failure, it is banished to a harmless demiplane within your clearly dark, unforgiving soul. It manifests as a tattoo depicting the creature, and from then on, you may spend 10 Ki points to summon it as your own familiar for an hour, following your commands. You may only have one familiar at a time

Place of Worship

Once you reach 17th Level, you may choose a stretch of land on the Material Plane which legally becomes yours, 100 by 100 feet. All inanimate objects inside cannot be taken out of the land unless you take it yourself, or you have died. Within the space, your familiar acts as the groundskeeper. Everyone within the area can cast Tongues and Sending at will. If there are structures within the space, you may control the temperature inside them, but not hot or cold enough to cause any harm. You may spend 12 ki points to cast Hero's Feast, but only food specific to the region appears.
