Base Class: Rogue
Cutpurses are the kind of thieves that engage in pickpocketing and shoplifting. They could be considered low-level thieves, but they are skilled at going unnoticed and stealing small goods from unwary people.
Street Expert
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, as a cutpurse you are a master at pickpocketing and blending in to a crowd. You gain advantage on Sleight of Hand and Stealth checks against non-hostile and/or unwary NPCs.
Combat Theft
Starting at 3rd level, you are adept at pickpocketing while targets are distracted. On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to steal something from a creature that is within 5 feet of you. Roll a Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check against the Passive Perception of the target. If the target is within 5 feet of another hostile creature, you have advantage on that roll. On a successful roll, you have stolen some money or an item the target is not wielding. The DM determines the exact nature of the item. At the end of each of its next turns, the target can roll a DC Wisdom (Perception) check, against your Sleight of Hand DC (10 + Sleight of Hand modifier). On a successful roll, it's aware that it no longer carries the item.
Surveillance
Upon spending an hour observing it, you can map the general layout of a building. This includes the guard routes and rotation times, building entrances and exits, and the potential locations of valuables. After doing this, you gain a +10 on Dexterity (Stealth) checks to yourself and anyone within 20 feet of you, while within the location. A creature that receives this bonus leaves behind no tracks or other traces of its passage.
