Base Class: Druid
As a druid of the Circle of Blood, you have understood that blood is the most natural, most vital source of life and power.
Bloodied Form
2nd-level Circle of Lifeblood feature
As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to take on a bloodied form, rather than transforming into a beast.
While in your bloodied form, you retain your game statistics, but your body becomes a design of crimson; your veins pulse with a dim red light, and glowing patterns appear on your body in a design you choose. The form lasts for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again.
Whenever you assume your bloodied form, you gain the following benefits while in the form:
- On activation or as a bonus action, you can sacrifice a hit die to grant yourself resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- Whenever you make a melee weapon attack, you can roll a Vitality Dice, a d4 at level 2 and increases as you gain levels in this class, and add the total to the damage roll.
- As a bonus action, you may expend a spell slot and roll your vitality die. You gain temporary hit points equal to the spell level times the number rolled.
Grim Offering
6th-level Circle of Lifeblood feature
Your Vitality Die becomes a d6.
Additionally, you gain the extra attack feature.

Harsh Respite
10th level Circle of Lifeblood feature
Whenever you expend hit die as a part of a short rest, you may regain a number of spell slots equal to the amount of hit die rolled, maximum 5th level. If you spend 3 hit dice, you may regain a third level spell slot, or one first level and a second level spell slot.
Your vitality die becomes a d10.
Crimson Revival
14th-level Circle of the Lifeblood feature
While in your Bloodied Form, whenever you drop to 0 hp you may roll your vitality dice. On a roll of 1-5 you drop to 1 hp instead. On a 6-10 you regain hp equal to your proficiency bonus times the number rolled.
Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before using it again.

Posted Nov 13, 2023This has a good chance to become balanced. I think its a bit strong considering the extra damage from vitality die is stacking on top of any melee weapon attack and is not limited to just unarmed attacks or base druid class weapons. A single multi class or taking of a feat will ignore that limitation and get you access to stronger weapons + their possibly array of magically enhanced weapons.
