Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Gruumsh One-Eye is the main deity worshiped by the orcs. Some of whom gain is favor and are blessed by his divine powers. These followers are given mystical powers that increases their pure brute force strength (even if it's by a small amount in comparison to their pre-existing strength).

Restriction: Half-Orcs/Orcs Only

Only Orcs and Half-Orcs can follow the path of Gruumsh One-Eye. Gruumsh only blesses the strongest of his Orcish Cults.
Your DM can lift this restriction to better suit the campaign. The restriction exists for the Forgotten Realms. It might not apply to your DM's setting or your DM's version of the Realms.

Gruumsh's Boar Form

Gruumsh is known for occasionally taking the shape of wild beasts, his favored form of this being the mighty Boar. When you Rage, you can use a Bonus Action to transform into a Boar. When you transform, your Strength, Dexterity and Constitution scores match that of a boar, however your Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma remain the same. When you transform, your equipment morphs into you and is instantly re-equipped when transforming back.

 You transform back if:

  • Your Hit Points drop to 0
  • You use an Action to transform back
  • Your Rage ends

At 10th level, you can instead transform into a Giant Boar.

Gruumsh's Dark Haze

At 6th level, you're able to make black smoke billow forth from you. When you rage, you can use your Bonus Action to make a cloud surround you in a 10 ft radius Sphere centered on you. If a creature ends its turn within this cloud, it must succeed on a Constitution Saving Throw or take 3d6 Poison Damage and be Poisoned for a number of turns equal to your Strength Modifier, the DC for this saving throw is equal to 11+ Your Strength Modifier. This cloud follows you when you move and only dissipates when your rage ends or you fall Unconscious.

Bloodspear

Among Gruumsh's most iconic possessions is his Bloodspear, an iron weapon covered in the blood of elves. At 10th level, when you Rage, Gruumsh's Bloodspear appears in your free hand. You can use your bonus action to increase the reach of the Spear from 5 ft to 10 ft. If you gain a Critical Hit on a creature, that creature is Paralyzed for a number of turns equal to your Strength Modifier. If the spear is thrown, you can use a Bonus Action to make it return to your hand. If the Creature you target is a Humanoid (Elf), you gain a +2 to your Attack Bonus.

The Spear vanishes if you die, your Rage ends or you dismiss it using a Bonus Action.

Gruumsh's Rage

Gruumsh himself has taken a liking to your capabilities in battle and has blessed you with his powerful berserker rage.

When you rage, you gain the following benefits on top of your initial Rage abilities.

  • You retain your ability to Spellcast. If this spell deals damage to a creature, you can add your Rage Damage bonus to it.
  • You gain Temporary Hit Points equal to 10 + Your Constitution Modifier
  • If your Hit Points drop to 0 but you're not dead outright, you can drop to a number of Hit Points equal to your Constitution Modifier instead.
