Base Class: Rogue
You learned how to fight on streets or in taverns or at gyms, not from a temple or an order or a knight; your fighting style is unorthodox, cunning and brutal. Rogues who embrace this archetype revel in scrapes and brawls and are not afraid of physical obstacles or opposition. Stealth, nimbleness and deceit are in your arsenal, but so are brutishness, strength and hearty resilience.
The Muscle
3rd-level Ruffian feature
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Athletics skill if you don't already have it.
Brutish Action
3rd-level Ruffian feature
Starting at 3rd level, your unorthodox expertise and brute strength allow you to outmuscle your foes. You can use the bonus action granted by your Cunning Action to attempt to Grapple or Shove a creature.
Terrorize
9th-level Ruffian feature
At 9th level, your brawn is capable of terrifying your foes. When you deal extra damage to a creature using your Sneak Attack feature, you can make a Charisma (Intimidation) check contested by the creature’s Wisdom (Insight) check. The creature must be able to see and hear you, and the two of you must share a language.
If you succeed on the check, the creature is frightened by you until the start of your next turn.
The Bigger They Are
13th-level Ruffian feature
Starting at 13th level, you can Grapple and Shove targets up to two sizes larger than you.
Scoundrel's Attack
17th-level Ruffian feature
As of 17th level, you are a true scoundrel in combat. You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
