Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Cuisine are outliers of the bard world. Where other bards are renowned for the performative, the persuasive, or the evocative, Cuisiner bards know there is nothing more important than the taste of a wholesome meal. From pilgrims on a spiritual journey for the greatest ingredients in the land, to the short-order cooks that can turn a simple homemade recipe into a soul-healing experience, bards of the College of Cuisine represent themselves through their dedication to the art of cooking.

Chef's Proficiencies

When you join the College of Cuisine at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armor, shields, and nets. You also gain proficiency with Cook’s Utensils, and you can choose to use your Cook’s Utensils as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.

Song of the Feast

Also at 3rd level, you learn to inspire others through your craftsmanship of a hearty meal. Whenever you take a short rest, you can choose to embed Bardic Inspiration in foods you cook(henceforth referred to as a Bardic Dish). A Bardic Dish requires 1lb of non-magical food or ingredients to create, and an unconsumed Bardic Dish will last until the next short rest, after which it will lose all magical properties. A Bardic Dish is treated as an item and can be consumed as an action. A creature must consume the majority of the Dish to receive its effects. After consuming a Bardic Dish, a creature gains the regular benefits of your Bardic Inspiration, as well as regaining hit points equal to the Bardic Inspiration roll + your Constitution modifier (minimum of +0).

This feature has no effect on a creature that cannot consume food. If a creature under the effects of one of your Bardic Dishes becomes incapacitated, they lose any unused Bardic Inspiration given by you.

Conscientious Cook

Starting at 6th level, your improving cooking skills inspire peace of mind from even the toughest of soldiers. The sweet aroma of the kitchen lingers around you, easing the minds of humanoids. As an action, you can choose a humanoid you can see within 15ft. That creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC, and does so with advantage if you or your companions are fighting it. If it fails the saving throw, it is charmed by you for 1 hour or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it. The charmed creature regards you as a friendly acquaintance. When the effect ends, the creature will not know it was charmed by you unless you or your companions attacked it. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma Modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Lasting Impression

Also at 6th level, your techniques and ingredients have grown to leave lasting impressions on people’s full stomachs and content minds. Whenever a creature consumes a Bardic Dish, they are considered “full” until the next short rest. As an action, you can reactivate the wholesome properties of ingested Bardic Dishes. Any creatures within a 30-foot radius that are considered “full” instantly receive the healing effects of Song of the Feast. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Communal Feast

At 14th level, your prowess in meal craftsmanship enters the upper reaches of even a master’s skill, great enough to impress even nobles without the use of magic. You gain the ability to cast Heroes’ Feast without expending a spell slot once per long rest. Up to 12 creatures can partake in the feast, and if you choose to use your Cook’s Utensils as the spellcasting focus, you may also substitute the original material components for 2lb worth of non-magical ingredients for every participating creature (which the spell consumes).

Additionally, you can now add your Proficiency Bonus to any healing provided by Song of the Feast.
