Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The symbiotes are a strange race of creature, with mystical abilities only unlocked by joining with another living being. Many connect with their symbiotes in different ways but all are just as destructive and dangerous.

Symbiotic Transformation

Starting at 3rd level, your rage unlocks the powers held within your symbiote. At the start of your rage you undergo a transformation as your symbiote begins to take over your body, covering you in a gelatinous substance and transforming your features. While transformed you gain the following effects:

- Natural Weapons: You grow claws and fangs, all of which do 1d8 damage and your unarmed strikes do 1d6 bludgeoning damage.

- Damage Resistance: You gain resistance to all bludgeoning, piercing or slashing damage.

- Terrifying Form: You gain advantage on intimidation checks.

You gain additional benefits based on the type of symbiote you have bonded with. You can select from the options below.

Alpha Symbiote

When you transform, you grow one size larger (for example, Medium to Large) and you gain a +5 to all strength checks and saves.

Chaos Symbiote

When you rage you gain 4 additional natural weapons, which take the form of spined tendrils which do 1d8 piercing damage and have a range of 10 ft. They can also be used for movement and climbing however, standard checks apply.

Crouching Symbiote

At any point during your rage, you can cast Web centred on yourself and can move through the area with no difficulty or restraint. When you cast it, the web's size is 10ft larger in all directions.

Evolutionary Adaption

At 6th level, your symbiote gives you benefits even without fully taking control of your body. The benefits are based on the type of your symbiote and can be used outside of your rage.

Alpha

You can sense the presence of other life forms within 30 ft of you. You know the approximate location of any creature within this range even in darkness or if the creature is invisible. You cannot sense any creature hidden from divination magic.

Chaos

Your speed increases by 15 ft and your jump distance triples.

Crouching

You can climb up and across walls and ceilings without having to make any additional checks. Additionally you gain darkvision if you do not already have it, with a range of 30 ft.

Superior Physiology

At 10th level, your body has evolved to something far superior than most other beings, capable of absorbing and consuming the life force of other beings. Once per turn, when you make an attack with your natural weapons you can regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt. Additionally, you gain advantage on constitution checks and saves as your symbiote nears a perfect adaption to its host body.

Perfected Bond

At 14th level, the bond with your symbiote has reached near perfection. You are at one with your powerful benefactor and gain a new level of power.

Alpha Symbiote

You become the epitome of physical power. You count as huge when it comes to determining your carrying capacity or how much you can push, drag or lift. Additionally, you have advantage on checks made to physically break a non-magical object that is large or smaller.

Chaos Symbiote

Your natural weapons and mobility have reached their peak. Your tentacles now do 1d10 damage and have a range of 20 ft. Additionally you can use the dash action as a bonus action.

Crouching Symbiote

You are the master of creating and manipulating your own battlefield. You can teleport to a creature within your web as a bonus action and attack that creature with advantage until the end of your turn. Additionally, creatures in your web have disadvantage on saves made to escape it.
