Often associated with the Feywild and other planes, magical pursuits or interests, Curioforge Artificers are most commonly associated with bold action on the front lines empowered by their preternatural creations. While typically creating their masterworks from organic materials like wood, ivory and bone in place of metal and stone, Curioforge artificers revel in the challenge of quantifying and studying the uncategorisable chaos of the lands of the Archfey in a manner befitting of their more scientifically-focused kin. 

Tool Proficiency

3rd-level Curioforge feature

You gain proficiency with woodcarver's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan’s tools of your choice.

Intrepid Innovator

3rd-level Curioforge feature

Your boldness has prepared you for a life fighting on the front lines, using strategy and guile alike to dominate your foes:

  • You gain proficiency with martial weapons.
  • When you attack with a magic weapon, you can use your Intelligence modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity modifier, for the attack and damage rolls.

Empowering Token

3rd-level Curioforge feature

Using your woodcarver's tools you take spend 10 minutes to create an Empowering Token. The Empowering Token is a tiny magical object which weighs 1/4 lb, and can be attached or detached as an action to a larger object, such as a weapon or set of armour. Once you have created a token in this way, you cannot do so again until you finish a long rest. Upon creating a new Empowering Token, your existing one is destroyed as it suddenly blooms into a mass of petals that scatter into the breeze before vanishing. 

When you create the token, you determine its appearance. As a bonus action, you can cause the Empowering Token to activate, granting the creature currently in possession of the token the associated benefit as detailed in the Empowering Token table. Repeated use of the same benefit do not stack and once the creature utilises the benefit, you must reactive the token using another bonus action before they can do so again.

You can activate your Empowering Token a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus before it is destroyed as detailed above.

Benefit Description

Emboldening

When the creature in possession of your Empowering Token makes an ability check, they can choose to gain proficiency in the associated ability. If the creature already possesses proficiency, they instead gain expertise. 

Enveloping

The creature in possession of your Empowering Token gains a number of temporary hit points equal to your artificer level. 

Inspiriting

When the creature in possession of your Empowering Token hits a target with a weapon attack, the creature may roll one additional set of weapon damage dice when determining the damage dealt. At 9th level this increases to two additional sets of dice, and at 15th the creature may roll three additional sets of dice. 

Extra Attack

You can attack twice, rather than once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Felicitous Charm

9th-level Curioforge feature

Starting at 9th level, your experience with the residents of the Feywild grants you further skill at manipulating and influencing your surroundings:

  • When another creature you can see makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, you can use your reaction and expend 1 spell slot to roll an additional d20. You choose which of the d20s is used for the attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. You can do so after the creature rolls but before any effects of the roll occur.
  • You can cast charm person without expending a spell slot and without preparing the spell, provided you use woodcarver's tools as the spellcasting focus. You can do so a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Arcane Armament

15th-level Curioforge feature

At 15th level, your dealings with fey have taught you the impact of sudden and bold deeds. When you take the attack action, you may replace one of the weapon attacks with a cantrip spell attack. If you choose not to replace one of your attacks in this way and both of your weapon attacks hit, you can make an additional attack as a bonus action.
