Base Class: Sorcerer
Your magic springs from a mystical link between your soul and the magic of elemental earth. You might trace a distant ancestor to the Plane of Earth, or your family might have earned a mighty boon in return for a service to the dao lords. Whatever your past, the magic of elemental earth is yours to command.
Your link to earth magic grants you extraordinary resilience, and stone sorcerers have a natural affinity for combat magics as well as tasks typically delegated to druids and rangers. In combat your place is amid the fray. You rely on your elemental nature to shield you from harm and your magic to track and overwhelm your enemies.
Stone Magic
1st-level Stone Essence feature
You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Stone Essence Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an evocation or a transmutation spell from the druid, ranger, or sorcerer, spell list.
Stone Essence Spells
| Sorcerer Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | catapult, earth tremor |
| 3rd | maximilian’s earthen grasp, pass without trace |
| 5th | erupting earth, meld into stone |
| 7th | stoneskin, stone shape |
| 9th | passwall, transmute rock |
In addition, consult the Geode Quirks table and choose or randomly determine a way your connection to the earth manifests.

| 3 | You barely bleed, but if you do your blood takes on a metallic color or leaks like sand. |
| 4 | You are incredibly dense and unable to float in water. |

| 6 | You find crystals and rare earths enrapturing and can’t look away from an expensive gem. |
Stone's Durability
1st-level Stone Essence feature
Your connection to stone gives you extra fortitude. Your hit point maximum increases by 1, and it increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level in this class.
As an action, you can gain a base AC of 13 + your Constitution modifier if you aren’t wearing armor, and your skin assumes a stony appearance. This effect lasts until you end it as a bonus action, you are incapacitated, or you don armor other than a shield.
Stone Tell
1st-level Stone Essence feature
When you can making an Intelligence (Nature) to identify local geology or Wisdom (Survival) check to track creatures in rocky or sandy terrain, you have advantage on the roll. If you are touching a stone object or surface, you can potentially determine the number of creatures of each type that traveled within 10 feet of that stone in the past 24 hours.
Earthen Metamagic
6th-level Stone Essence feature
You have listened to the earth and found unique ways to mirror its lessons with your spells. You learn an additional Metamagic of your choice from the following options. When you would choose Metamagic options at later levels, you also have access to these options.
Forceful Spell
When you cast a spell that requires a saving throw from the following list, you can spend 2 sorcery points to change that saving throw from its normal ability score to one of the other listed types: Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution. On a failure, the target suffers the effects as though they had failed their saving throw.
If the spell does not already have a somatic component, it gains one for this casting, as you move your hands in a turbulent pushing and pulling motion.
Pinpoint Spell
When you cast a spell that allows you to force creatures in an area to make a saving throw you can instead spend 1 sorcery point and make a ranged spell attack against a single target that would be in the range. On a hit, the target suffers the effects as though they had failed their saving throw.
If the spell does not already have a somatic component, it gains one for this casting, as you attempt to mold and shape the arcana into a more precise form.
Geode Strike
6th-level Stone Essence feature
You batter your foes like a rock slide or cave-in. Once during each of your turns, when you roll damage against a target you hit with an attack roll or forced to make a Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution saving throw, you can replace the damage type against a single target with bludgeoning damage.
Aggregate Core
14th-level Stone Essence feature
You can unleash the power of your aggregate core. As a bonus action, you can spend 1 or more sorcery points to magically transform your body for 10 minutes. For each sorcery point you spend, you can gain one of the following benefits of your choice, the effects of which last until the transformation ends:
- You have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in rocky or sandy terrain. Additionally, you may take the Hide action as a bonus action. Your body begins to resemble the surrounding stone so well that as long as you remain motionless you become indistinguishable from a normal statue.
- You become one with the surround earth, gaining a burrow speed equal to your walking speed and Tremorsense up to 10 feet.
- Your body, along with any equipment you are wearing or carrying, hardens into marble or granite. You gain immunity to the petrified and poisoned conditions as well as resistance to poison damage.
- You gain advantage on Strength and Dexterity saving throws against effects that would knock you prone as the earth moves up your legs and supports you.
-
Your crystal formations begin to shift and protrude into natural weapons of your choice. Your unarmed strikes deal 1d6 bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, as appropriate to the weapon you chose, and you are proficient with your unarmed strikes. Finally, the natural weapon is magic, and you can use Charisma instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls.
-
You create a cushion or granulated sand or fine minerals to insulate you from disruptive attacks. When you make a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration, you may double your proficiency bonus.
Stone's Throw
18th-level Stone Essence feature
Your mastery of earth magic allows you to add the force of elemental earth to your spells. Once per turn when you cast a spell of 1st level or higher that deals bludgeoning damage, choose one creature damaged by that spell. That creature takes extra bludgeoning damage equal to half your sorcerer level.
Additionally, you can force the creature to make a Strength saving throw against your sorcerer spell save DC. On a failed save, the target is either pushed in a straight line up to 15 feet away from you or knocked prone.
