Base Class: Sorcerer
"Their wish granted, they went to try it out. Although disappointed at first, the consequences of their touch soon overwhelmed the ruler with joy. There was no end to their rejoicing." - chronicler Silenus
You trace your bloodline back to a powerful creature, whose rash and unwise wish now imbues you with power. No one has found a way to prevent the unfortunate consequences of your presence, and they leave you with morally dubious riches.
Sorcerers of the Fool's Gold find themselves the darlings of banks and moneylenders, although some use their unique talents for more nefarious purposes.

Gilded Presence
Starting when you choose this origin at 1st level, you become dangerous to stay close to. Whenever you're within 30 ft of a creature, you can use an action on your turn to impose disadvantage on its attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks for 1 round.
You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.
-
If a creature remains in physical contact with you for 1 round, it must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed saving throw, it is considered restrained.
A creature restrained by this effect must make another Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If it successfully saves against this effect three times, the effect ends. If it fails its saves three times, it is turned to gold and subjected to the petrified condition.
The successes and failures don't need to be consecutive; keep track of both until the target collects three of a kind.
If the creature is physically broken while petrified, it suffers from similar deformities if it reverts to its original state.
Once every 7 days, you can choose to drown or otherwise suffocate yourself until you're unconscious. Once you fall unconscious, you end the effect on one creature of your choice.
Waste Not, Want Not
Starting at 1st level, you become able to use the accursed metal from your ancestors' past as material for your spells. Whenever you cast a spell, you may choose to consume a mass of gold within 30 ft of you instead of a spell slot. The gold is destroyed when you use this feature.
| 1st-level spell slot | 4 lbs (200 GP) |
| 2nd-level spell slot | 10 lbs (500 GP) |
| 3rd-level spell slot | 25 lbs (1,250 GP) |
| 4th-level spell slot | 50 lbs (2,500 GP) |
| 5th-level spell slot | 100 lbs (5,000 GP) |
| 6th-level spell slot | 150 lbs (7,500 GP) |
| 7th-level spell slot | 300 lbs (15,000 GP) |
| 8th-level spell slot | 400 lbs (20,000 GP) |
| 9th-level spell slot | 500 lbs (25,000 GP) |
Relative Splendor
Starting at 6th level, you turn your heritage into an advantage. Whenever you convert spell slots into sorcery points, choose one of these effects:
- 1 lb of gold per spent spell slot level gets added to your inventory for 1 hour. Temporary gold cannot be spent with your Waste Not, Want Not feature, nor on spells that require more than 50 GP as a spell component.
- You gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage for 1 round per spent spell slot level.
- The range of influence for your Gilded Presence feature increases to a 5 ft aura for 1 round per spent spell slot level.
Professional Descendant
At 14th level, you become able to channel the effects of your ancestors' unfortunate decision. You learn the flesh to stone spell, but every creature you affect turns into gold rather than stone.
If a creature within 30 ft of you rolls a successful saving throw against one of your spells, you may spend 6 sorcery points as a reaction to force that creature to fail that saving throw instead.
Royal Treatment
Beginning at 18th level, your ancestor's wish is fully under your control. You can choose whether your skin petrifies those who touch you or not.
In addition to this, you can exploit the unwise decisions of your forebears. Whenever you destroy gold to cast a spell rather than using a spell slot, you regain 2 sorcery points.
