Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

You feel the mystical energy of the earth beneath you as you rage. It fuels you, connecting you to the world as a whole. You feel this magic flow through you, into your core and out your battleaxe as what appears to be a Fireball erupts at your enemies.

You are the land, you are the magic, you are the Rage of the World incarnate.

Laylines of the Earth

Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to connect with the natural, mystical energies that run along the world. By connecting to these laylines you gain the ability to cast spells.

To do this, you gain 2 Layline Conduits, sigils which appear on your body that connect you to these energies. You gain an extra conduit at levels 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, and 17.

At 3rd level when you choose this Path, you may choose one 1st-Level Spell and one 2nd-Level Spell which your Conduits are attached too. These spells MUST be damage-dealing spells that do NOT require Concentration. Each time you gain a new Layline Conduit, you may choose a new spell to add to your repertoire. This spell must be of the same level as your total number of Layline Conduits (i.e. when you gain your 4th Layline Conduit, you may choose a 4th-Level Spell).

While Raging you can, as an action, spend any number of Layline Conduits to cast a spell equal to the number of Layline Conduits spent (i.e. you can spend 5 Conduits to cast a 5th-Level Spell, 3 to cast a 3rd-level, etc.).

When casting this way, Constitution becomes your spellcasting modifier and you do NOT need material components to cast the spell.

You regain all spent Layline Conduits after completing a Long Rest.

Mystic Switch

Starting at 6th level, you have begun to control how the Laylines interact with the physical world.

When you enter a rage while you still have Layline Conduits available, you may choose a damage type of any spell you know. You can change the damage type of your melee attacks to that type for the duration of your rage.

Doing this also changes your resistance type to the new damage type (i.e. Using this feature with your Battleaxe and the spell shatter replaces your resistance to slashing damage with a resistance to force damage.)

Growing Connection

Starting at 10th level, your connection to the magic of the world has grown so strong that you are able to tap into certain abilities without spending any Layline Conduits.

You may choose a single damage-dealing cantrip to add to your repertoire of spells. You can choose to use your attacks to cast this cantrip at its lowest level without spending any Layline Conduits.

One With the Laylines

Starting at 14th Level, younhave begun to truly master your connection with the natural magical energies of the world.

While raging, at the top of your turn you may change the damage type gifted by the 6th level feature. The damage type must still be the same as type as another spell you can wield.

Your altered resistance does not change to this new type. Instead, you gain resistance to the new damage type in addition to the old one.
