Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Dream walkers gain power over the dreams of others, and the power to project their dreams into the waking world. Often solitary, these rare mages seek out others in their sleep and send their blessings, curses, and more subtle manipulations to them from across the land of dreams.

Shepherd of Sleep

1st-level Dream Walker feature

You learn an expanded list of spells given in the Dream Spells list, below. These spells become known for you at the associated levels, but they do not count against your number of spells known.

When a spell you cast causes a creatures to fall asleep, you may optionally cast the lesser dream cantrip on the creature without spending an action, even if you are not in range. Additionally, when you cast the lesser dream cantrip or the dream spell, you may simultaneously control the dreams of a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) without entering a trance as the spells usually require.

When you cast the sleep spell, you may optionally spend a number of sorcery points no greater than your proficiency bonus to add 2d8 per spent point to the sleep spell's roll.

Dream Spells

Visitation

6th-level Dream Walker feature

Your exploration of the world of dreams has deepened your insight into the sleeping minds of others. When you are visiting a creature's dreams using either the lesser dream cantrip or the dream spell, you may cast any spell from your Dream Spells list targeting it regardless of whether is in range or visible. Only one such spell may be cast in this way per dream, and if the target saves against it the dream ends immediately. If the spell has a duration, that duration is extended by the amount of time that the creature remains asleep in the dream spell, and if the spell can cause the creature to take damage (bestow curse and phantasmal killer), then the spell's effects do not begin until the creature awakens. At the DM's discretion, creatures who are charmed during a dream may not be immediately aware that they were charmed when the spell ends, and may require an Intelligence saving throw against your spell save DC to deduce this fact.

Additionally, if you are under the effects of the detect thoughts spell, then you may focus your thoughts on any creature whose dreams you share regardless of whether you can see them or they are in range, and if you probe deeper, they have disadvantage on the saving throw.

Walking Dreamer

14th-level Dream Walker feature

Your knowledge of dreams has grown such that you can now bring your dreams to the very surface of the waking world and show them to others. You learn the eyebite spell, and it does not count against your number of spells known. You may cast it once without spending a spell slot, and you may ignore the verbal and somatic components when you do. Once you have cast it in this way, you may not do so again until you have completed a long rest.

Additionally, when you cast the sleep spell, it now causes creatures to fall unconscious instead of asleep. Further, when you cast the lesser dream cantrip or the dream spell, you may target creatures that are unconscious and elves who are trancing as if they were asleep.

Shaper of Minds

18th-level Dream Walker feature

Your explorations of dreams have made you resilient and adept at crafting benevolent or manipulative dreams for others. You have immunity to psychic damage and cannot be targeted by the dream spell against your will.

Dream Smithing

When you successfully cast the lesser dream cantrip or the dream spell on a creature, you may choose to cast either the geas spell or the greater restoration spell on the creature without spending a spell slot or providing any components. You do not need to know the geas or greater restoration spells to do this, nor do you need to be able to target the creature normally. When cast using this feature, the geas spell has a duration of 24 hours. The additional spell requires that the creature remains dreaming for at least 1 hour, and the geas or greater restoration spell takes effect at the end of that hour. If you use this feature to cast geas or greater restoration, then you may not use it again until you have completed a long rest.
