Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Scholars are known for compiling their knowledge into a masterwork. This masterwork demonstrates their vast array of knowledge from their studies. Scholars are also know for knowing many languages, histories, religions, and more.

Impressive Acumen

At 2nd level, you are proficient in Arcana, History, Medicine, or Religion. Your proficiency bonus for any of these checks is doubled if you are proficient in them.

At 16th level, if your roll on an Intelligence skill check is less than half your Intelligence score, you may substitute your roll for that number.

Tome of Knowledge

As 2nd level, when you gain this feature, choose two cantrips from any class's spell list (the two needn't be from the same list) and write them in your Tome of Knowledge. Your spellbook is your Tome of Knowledge. While the book is on your person, you can cast those cantrips at will. They don't count against your number of cantrips known. If they don't appear on the wizard spell list, they are nonetheless wizard spells for you. You always know the location of your Tome of Knowledge. If your Tome of Knowledge is destroyed, you can perform a 1-week ceremony to record your known spells into a blank journal. This ceremony can be performed during a long rest.

Repository

Beginning at 6th level, you can understand all writing.

At 9th level, you can understand and write all spoken languages.

Boundless Knowledge

At 10th level, your spellbook is upgraded to a Tome of Boundless Knowledge. Choose three schools of magic (i.e. abjuration). The time and gp spent recording spells of these schools in your spellbook is halved, and you may record three 1st level spells in your spellbook (one from each school). You can cast these three spells without having them prepared. Additionally, you may cast each of these spells without using a spell slot once per long rest.

Legendary Knowledge

By 14th level, your Tome of Boundless Knowledge has become a masterwork that will be studied for centuries, upgrading it to a Tome of Legendary Knowledge. You know enough of your own studies that your spellbook no longer needs to be on your person for you to benefit from your Tome of Knowledge or Boundless Knowledge features. However, while your Tome of Legendary Knowledge is on your person, you gain the following features:

  • Choose one cantrip, 1st level, or 2nd level spell from every school of magic. It need not be from the wizard spell list, and it counts as a wizard spell when you cast it. You may cast one of them without a spell slot and without having it prepared once per long rest.
  • When you fail an Intelligence skill check, you may instead choose to succeed as if you rolled an 18. You may do this a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier per long rest.
  • You learn the Legend Lore spell, and can cast it without having it prepared.
