Base Class: Bard
Artisans of the College of Nightmares excel in bringing about an opponents worst fears and nightmares. Summoning creatures of shadows as they read poems of tragedy and sorrow. It is a very unique art to perfect among bards.
Many Artisans of this college have often been described as evil and dark. The average person; however, does not understand the subtlety of storytelling and poetic beauty in fear and anguish, and its ability to grasp the attention of others. Artisans that master this arcana go on to be voices of warning and reason within high ranking society. They are regarded as philosophers and seers of dark days to come.
Shadow Servant
As an action, you create a shadow that lasts until you dismiss it as a bonus action. The shadow appears in an unoccupied space that you can see within 30 feet of you. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the shadow up to 30 feet to a space you can see, but it must remain within 30 feet of you if you want to cast spells through it. But it can be 120 feet away from.
For the duration, you can cast spells and attack using the shadow, but you must use your own senses. Your enemies will know that the attacks and spells are originating from you and not the shadow. Additionally, when both you and your shadow are within 5 feet of a creature, your shadow has advantage on attack rolls against that creature.
Linked sense
At 6th level, you can sacrifice your sense of seeing and hearing to be able to see and hear as the shadow you created. The shadow can not be further than 120 feet for this ability to work. Casting time is 1 minute.
By level 8 in this class, you can control 2 Shadows at a time.
Tales of Woe
Also at 3rd level, you learn how to cripple a creatures instinctual reflexes for a turn as you sickly read from your book of psalms and tradegy. As a Bonus action, choose a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you, roll a Bardic Inspiration die and subtract that number rolled from the creatures next Saving Throw. The creature is immune if it can’t hear you or if it’s immune to being charmed.
Shadow - Extra Attack
Starting at 6th level, your Shadow can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice with your shadows. If you have two shadows, you can split the two attacks between the two shadows or use all two attacks with one shadow.
Living Nightmare
Starting at level 14, you can sacrifice your two shadows to create one Large sized Shadow within range known as your Nightmare. This Shadow can take the Attack action as a bonus action during your turn, and you can choose to teleport on to and ride it as part of your action of summoning it. It has an AC of 20 and hit points equal to your maximum hit points. It has Strength +8, and +0 for every other ability modifier.
You do not gain the benefit of casting spells through your Nightmare
