Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

All barbarians harbor a fury within. Their rage grants them superior strength, durability, and speed. Barbarians who follow the Path of the Storm Herald learn to transform that rage into a mantle of primal magic, which swirls around them. When in a fury, a barbarian of this path taps into the forces of nature to create powerful magical effects.

Storm heralds are typically elite champions who train alongside druids, rangers, and others sworn to protect nature. Other storm heralds hone their craft in lodges in regions wracked by storms, in the frozen reaches at the world’s end, or deep in the hottest deserts.

Storm's Fury

While raging, you gain the following benefits in addition to those you already possess while raging:

  • You have resistance to lightning and thunder damage.
  • The Rage Damage dealt by your attacks is either lightning or thunder damage (your choice, chosen when you first begin your rage).
  • Your movement speed increases by 10 ft.

Hands of the Storm

Beginning at 6th level, your hands carry the power of storms. Once per turn, whenever you use a throwing weapon (such as a javelin) you can imbue the projectile with the power of lightning. When thrown, the projectile deals bonus lightning damage equal to your barbarian level. Regardless of whether the projectile hits, it loses this quality.

Additionally, you can use your action while raging to conjure and hurl a bolt of lightning. You can throw this lightning bolt at a point you can see within 120 feet. All creatures within 20 feet of that point must make a Dexterity saving throw  (The save for this ability DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.) or take lightning damage equal to 1d6 x your Barbarian Level (half on a successful save).

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

Raging Gale

Beginning at 10th level, your rage becomes so explosively strong as to stir the winds themselves into a gale. When you first enter your rage, you can cause an explosion of raging wind to emit from you in a 10 foot radius. All creatures within that radius must make a Strength saving throw or be forced 10 feet directly away from you. A creature that fails this save by 5 or more is also knocked prone.

The save for this ability DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.

Stormbringer

Starting at 14th level, you gain immunity to lightning and thunder damage while raging. Whenever you would take lightning or thunder damage, you instead regain missing hitpoints equal to the potential damage dealt.

Additionally, while you are raging, whenever a creature within 5 ft. of you hits you with a melee attack, you can expend a reaction to send a jolt of lightning into that creature. That creature must make a Dexterity saving throw (the DC for this saving throw is equal to 8 + your proficiency + your Constitution modifier) or take lightning damage equal to your Barbarian level.
